This ring was not supposed to look like this … but I’m very happy it does! This piece of silver was relegated to the scrap pot after a stamped design didn’t go to plan! Mistakes in silver are costly , even more so now with increased prices so I came up with a plan to “fix” it.
Reticulating the surface of the metal involves heating until almost melting point, cooling and pickling several times until it looks like the surface of the moon ! As it turns out it’s a handy process for erasing wonky stamping ! Setting stones in strategic spots covers the rest! I may not have planned to make this design but I will definitely be making more like this - on purpose next time !!

I have recorded a little video on cleaning your jewellery. When you are not wearing it your silver jewellery may turn a blackish colour and tarnish. This is not bad , it just means that your silver has reacted with the air and oxidised. It’s an easy fix to get your jewellery looking bright and shiny again . What I didn’t say in the video was that when you have cleaned and polished your silver jewellery it should be stored in an airtight bag to prevent it tarnishing again before you wear it. It’s also worth keeping a silver polishing cloth with your jewellery- my favourite is doodlebugzz

I’ve had these two gorgeous bangles in for a clean and repairs last week for the lovely Jane Adams from . I made the bangle with the stamped charms almost 4 years ago for Jane’s wedding to Nick and the charms are stamped and reversible with both their names. Jane never takes them off so they needed some tlc ! The charm bangle was a sorry little thing with its bubble circle missing - The other bangle was a commission also from Jane to hold the fabulous vintage silver thimble . These beauties are now looking like their gorgeous selves again and back with Jane. (Of course I forgot the before photos! 🙄)

Workshops are coming back ! After a break from workshops it’s time for a return. Lots of the lovely people I met at the weekend through the said they would be interested in some silver jewellery making workshops so…. a plan is forming. I’m looking into some venues and dates starting from September (it’ll be here before we know it😉) So to register your interest and give me some idea of what you would like and what days of the week suit please comment the word WORKSHOP and I’ll send you the link.
