These are the kinds of messages that make me love what I do 🤗 I promise I’m not psychic 😂

The last photo came from a client who found me after a pretty awful high street experience. As soon as the salesperson learned her partner’s job, the conversation shifted into “lab-grown diamonds are for lower incomes.”

That just doesn’t sit right with me.

At ATB, we’re here to guide—not judge. A ring is a deeply personal symbol of love, not a status badge.

I’ve also had a client who dreamed of a sapphire ring, but her partner felt pressured into buying a diamond because he’d been told, “it’s not a real engagement ring if it’s not a diamond.” I felt so sad at that 🥹

And don’t even get me started on being told 18ct gold is harder than 9ct… it’s actually the other way around.

Honestly, it makes me so mad 🙈

Something from my personal collection I’ve been meaning to share for a while… 😜

As you’ve probably guessed, I do have a soft spot for antiques. One of my favourite things is finding beautiful treasures from the past and giving them a new lease of life in fresh settings 😎

Here we have a 1.2ct Antique Old Mine Cut diamond, dating from around 1880–1900, now set in a new 14ct yellow and white gold low-profile setting on a tapered band.

The diamond is K colour, with a gentle warmth that I absolutely love – it really adds to that old-world feel. It’s VS1 clarity with surprisingly good symmetry, which is quite rare for the time. Back then, diamonds were cut entirely by hand, long before any modern technology or precision mapping.

I’ve been playing around with a few band ideas – I’m especially drawn to the red and green combination (it has a sentimental meaning for me), although the diamond wishbone is also a favourite 😅
