Due to an unprecedented high demand for safe deposit boxes over the past months, the good news is that we have now taken delivery of some small to medium sized boxes. These will be available for rent in the next few days. The bad news is that we have also updated our fingerprint biometric system in conjunction with the extra safes and anyone visiting the Leeds branch from today will unfortunately need to have their fingerprint scanned onto the new system. The reregistration will only need to be done once and we will endeavour to get this done as quick as we can, so please bear with us and allow a little extra time when visiting. If you haven't visited for quite a while then we suggest you possibly bring some photo identification with you.

According to a recent article on Yorkshire Live:

Yorkshire is the burglary capital of England and Wales after shocking stats show the region has the joint-highest rate of residential burglaries in the country.

Office for National Statistics figures show police forces across the region recorded more than 24,000 residential burglaries last year. When broken down by the number of households using the 2021 census figures, analysis shows Yorkshire and the Humber had the joint highest rate of residential burglaries, with one in every 96 homes burgled in 2024.

More specifically, however, South Yorkshire had the highest rate of burglaries last year, with one in every 73 homes burgled. West Yorkshire had the third-highest rate in England and Wales at one in 91 homes, while Humberside was sixth at one in 99 homes.
