Evergreen Gallery is the vibrant destination at Leeds Corn Exchange for contemporary hand made jewellery, textiles, artworks and cards.The owners, Stephen and Anne Roper, lovingly make all their work on show in the studio at the gallery. Carefully chosen ceramics and glass by professional makers in the region are also displayed.. Stephen has been making contemporary silver and gold jewellery for 2

3 years, and before this crazy papier-mache for longer than he can remember. He has supplied Liberty and the National Glass centre, and is exhibited at several leading UK galleries. He is inspired by natural textures and forms, which are translated with traditional metal working techniques into the distinctive free-flowing designs of his Wild Wood and Moon Shadow collections. He also enjoys upcycling customer's unworn gold jewellery into unique commissions in his evocative style. Anne loves creating contemporary art-cards, mixed-media artworks and clothing accessories with multi-layered colours and textures. Metallic threads, paint, embroidery, felt and crochet are combined variously to make wonderful one-offs. She was one of the original stallholders in 1970's Camden Lock, and supplied London stores including Liberty and Selfridges.

It was lovely to see Karen’s face light up, when I presented her with these delicate rings I have made for her.

They are from Dennis for their 50th Wedding Anniversary XX Their love lit up the gallery, dispelling the shadows of the chemotherapy Karen is undergoing Leeds Corn Exchange

Wildly flowing, delicate hand engraved leaves, tenderly hold between them a 4mm gemstone

Leaves entwine around the wood grain textured twig band, evoking enchanted elven woodlands, and are also inspired by the intricate foliage details of medieval carving

With Diamond, or whichever gemstone you would love

A Wedding band can sit snugly beside the Entwining Leaves ring, with its leaves being an overlapping canopy upon the companion ring

The ring can also have two tiny 1.25mm gemstones set either side of the central stone

Zoe is studying Sustainability and Environmental Management at University of Leeds and chose my gold Oak leaf and Acorn pendant for her 21st birthday tomorrow.

Here’s my new Oak Leaf and Acorn ring, which is also Caroline’s Engagement ring. It’s very meaningful for her as she met her Fiancé, Stephen, when working on woodland management near Leeds. Stephen is an artisan making replica medieval clothing, and wood carving

I now have three Oak Leaf and Acorn rings, which I make in silver and gold, and I can add a gemstone too.

Each ring has a hand engraved and heat textured leaf and a carved acorn, entwining around a wood grain textured twig band.

I love the free flowing organic style of these rings

They’re all on my website now too 🌿🌳💚
