Thank you to everyone who visited GNCCF by Great Northern Contemporary Craft & Art Fair this weekend in the beautiful Victoria Baths (See previous posts for more photos of the amazing venue) Lots of jewellery found new wearers and it was lovely to catch up with maker friends from across the UK.

Massive thanks too to the lovely organisers Ann-Marie Franey and Victoria Scholes who have got organising a fabulous event in this venue down to a well oiled machine. Thanks too to all the volunteers, especially those who carried my stuff up and down the stairs (I struggle with that these days) All of the event staff, cleaners and security are so friendly and helpful, special mention to the lighting crew, who sorted out my socket that I had forgotten to order in advance πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ Bit of a rest this morning and a few life tasks to sort then on to prep for Saltaire this weekend

View from my stand D10 on the balcony Great Northern Contemporary Craft & Art Fair. We're open today, Sunday, until 4pm. Also some other shots of this amazing building. This is exactly the sort of building I would have loved to have drawn in my sketchbook when I did my embroidery degree in Manchester in the early 90s! Then I think it was an abandoned building, thank goodness it has been saved!

A date for your diary! is coming up 2-4 October at the United Reform Church in Wilmslow, Cheshire. It's a lovely event of high quality work from about 30 designers and artists from the surrounding area. It's also FREE to visit, and there is a charity cafe run by the church too, lovely homemade soup and cakes. ( You can trust me to think about the food πŸ˜‰)

If you'd like to win Β£100 to spend at the event, pop over to the account and see the post WIN to enter.

Are you coming? Let me know in the comments.
My next event is the fabulous in the village of Melbourne, South Derbyshire, on 19 & 20th September. Around 150 artists and makers are hosted in a variety of venues from houses to shops to church halls around the village. I'm in the Assembly Rooms, a great place to start the trail, you can get your trail map and as well as around 30 artists to discover, there is also a cafe with lots of lovely 🍰 I'd better get back to making (and making and making!!)

Join me this Friday! (4th September)
These gorgeous wire flowers were made by complete wire work beginners on recent wire flower workshops run by me. The inspiration comes from beautiful seasonal flowers like dahlias, zinnias and echinacea. I teach two different techniques to create the basic flower shapes and then the tips and tricks to shape the petals in different ways so you end up with such a variety of blooms to display in a vase.

Come and make your own unique flowers this Friday at Ditzy Rose Makery in Tattenhall, Cheshire - contact the lovely Nikki to book, via DM or through her website.

You can choose black wire or copper wire to work with, and there are 1000s of colourful glass beads to choose from to embellish your flowers.

I have over 20 years experience of working with wire and lots of teaching experience too, so you are in safe hands πŸ™‚
