My name is Jessica Chitty. I was born in Cuckfield, West Sussex on the 6th of June 1971.
My mother’s name is Susan Elspeth Chitty and my father‘s name is Thomas Willes Chitty. My maternal grandparents are Antonia White (born Irene Botting) and Silas Glossop (born Rudolf Glossop). The woman I knew as my maternal step grandmother was Sheila Glossop. My paternal grandparents are Sir Henry Chitty and Edith Constance Gladstone.
I am blessed with two beautiful children and six spectacular nieces and nephews. I have two half aunts who have always been there for me. I have two deceased uncles who were very special to me in different ways. I have four cousins each amazing. I have three handsome half cousins. Beautiful, kind, sensitive boys. There is one person in this world who is not related to me who I treasure more than anything you can imagine. Once again I feel blessed. My siblings are Miranda, Cordelia and Andrew. We care for each other.
Off the top of my head my heroes are Joan Armatrading, Nick Cave, David Byrne, Russell Brand, Stephen Fry, Philip Larkin, Sylvia Plath, Danny Boyle, Rob Geldof, to name but a few. I also think Jessie J, Madonna and Rita Ora are pretty spectacular.
And there’s Picasso. Where do I start?
I want to tell you my story. I want to tell you my experience of being human in the 21st-century. I want to tell you that the world is full of goodness. Hate only comes from fear. We are good people. We are a good race. I hope you listen. And thank you for your time.
