A modern gem set dragonfly brooch, with trembling wings, with an oval faceted sapphire, weighing 1.73 carats, set in the thorax, with blue to green plique à jour enamel wings, with an old-cut diamond in each wing tip and two in the tail, with eight-cut diamonds, along the centre top wing edges, in the head, and graduating in the tail, with a total diamond weight of 1.22 carats, with cabochon ruby eyes, the legs are engraved to represent hairs, mounted in 18ct gold.
In the symbolism of many cultures dragonflies can represent change, especially new beginnings that come from experience and maturity, happiness and love.
