Our aim is also to provide our customers with an unmatched access to a large online directory of jewellery-related services. We like to emphasise the work of Londo

n-based goldsmiths and craftsmen, who bring with them artisanal qualities and talents. We also work with a few Swedish craftsmen to vary our items a bit. We believe that if a piece is designed and made with care, it will be worn with love and pride. No work is too small or too complex for our team and the highly trained craftsmen who work with us. We take great pride in enabling our customers the oppurtunity to restore, alter, repair and design their own beautifully handcrafted jewellery; tailored to individual budgets and requirements. We hope the beautiful, handcrafted jewellery in our online shop can give you some inspiration when looking into commissioning your own timeless piece of jewellery. Alternatively, we hope to share in the pleasurable experience of altering and restoring your family heirlooms.

Don't forget to stay hydrated this week!

In image dutch designer, Teunis Van De Kamp mixes modern metals and modern plastic to create upcycled jewellery. Modern poison ring? Lip balm ring? A drop of rum and coke? Mints while sitting on the tube? Emergency £1? Oh heck. Put whatever you want in it, just hydrate and don't forget to wear sunscreen like the song says. 🤣

Should one wear pearls in a heatwave? ! Pearls are very fragile and need certain care to retain their beauty. Here are some for you 🤍

* Don't wear pearls in the kitchen while cooking. Oven heat and cooking steam damages pearls.

* Heatwave? Take them off off off! Extreme sweat damages nacre. Darkens the silk with dirt, and stretches silk. You will end up damaging at least 3 pearls at the back either side and need to restring.

*Do not wear pearls in the shower or pool. Chlorine damages them.

*Do not wear them in the sea. Seawater dries the nacre outside.

*Never hang a brooch off the strand. It stretches the silk badly.

*Don't use ultrasonic cleaning or silver cleaning cloth for any pearl jewellery.

*Don't use perfume if possible. Chemicals damage them. If you have to then first apply perfume, let it dry and then put on pearls. Never spray directly onto pearls.

*Keep pearls separate from other jewellery to protect them. In a pouch.

*If worn everyday tight new silk lasts approx 1 year. Gaps and darkened silk form from sweat and wear. That is the time to restring.

*Always supply your extra pearls to your jeweller when asking for a restringing. Extra may be needed. Some always need to be redrilled.

*Fresh stringing makes the necklace tighter. And shorter. This does soften and loosen with wear.

While these tips mention necklaces all points are valid for All types of pearl jewellery. Especially rings too. And all types of pearls too.

I am offering 10% discount for all pearl care and restinging these last few days of June as it is a June "birthstone". Happy Birthday to Everyone born in June! 🌷

Hi Everyone! Sharing a happy bespoke commission with you today.
Hard to believe but this pendant used to be a ring. It only had the central big stone with one layer of small stones around it. We were asked to add another layer of small stones and remount all into a rubover-set pendant with a fixed chain all in 9ct yellow gold. What makes it even more unusual is that the stones are all cubic zirconias (CZ). But my client had sentimental reasons for taking these stones and remaking it all. Not every day we remount CZ stones. Only happened a handful of times. She wore it to special function and I must say it looked beautiful on her.

Rare red weather warning has been issued in the UK where I live in London. I wonder if schools will close? Yet to be decided. I remember my high school closed. It was 50 degrees Celsius that day in Richards Bay, Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa!

While natural rubies are made deep inside the Earth at temperatures ranging from 600°C to 1,100°C (1,112°F to 2,012°F) we can barely function at 35 degrees C! Expected this week here close to 38-40 deg.

Please take care this week wherever you may be. ❤

Good morning, hope you have a good week ahead.

I wanted to show you a ring that came to me about a month ago (when macro lens still worked). If you look at the top of the band there are two splits. Heavy wear and tear or a sudden, unexpected knock can damage the band. It was nicely repaired and returned.

Almost all the items that come to us are rings as they get most of the wear and tear on hands.

My this week. 🌿💚🌱

"Herb Rings", from the Food-Folly Collection. Jewellery that provides its wearer with fresh herbs to accompany any fine meal 😄. Made for a food inspired design collaboration in Minneapolis, USA. And 3D printed by Architects Independent.

Oh how nice it would be to wear and how totally improbable too. Which one are you taking to Nandos? 🤣
