Two different machines, two different approaches - solving the same task.
Both are testing the water resistance of your watch:
The Elma tester on the left creates a vacuum and measures the expansion of the crystal - if it doesn’t expand the internal pressure in your case is the same as outside, indicating a leak.
The second one is a wet tester. The case is pressurised, before being submerged. Afterwards the pressure is released - if the case starts bubbling, air is escaping the case indicating a leak. It is easier to find the leak this way. However, there is a risk of water getting into the case so we only use the wet tester on empty cases.
