Seen at Royal Ascot ✨

We were delighted to lend this fabulous 1930s ruby and diamond bracelet to the ever-elegant Alex Hammond for Day One of Royal Ascot.

Set with vibrant synthetic rubies and sparkling diamonds in 18ct gold and platinum, this bracelet is a wonderful example of how beautifully vintage jewellery can complement modern style. We particularly love how the rich ruby tones echo the bold colours of Alex’s outfit.

Jewellery is meant to be worn, enjoyed and seen and Royal Ascot is one of the few occasions where antique and vintage jewels truly come alive.

With thanks to stylist Sarah Kate Byrne for such a glorious look. ❤️

Royal Ascot starts today, so naturally I have gone down a small historical rabbit hole.

It is easy to dismiss Ascot as hats, champagne and social theatre.

But it is much more interesting than that.

It began with Queen Anne. It became a royal ritual. It developed rules about access, divorce, gender, dress and respectability. It has mourning history, car-park theatre, betting culture and, most importantly for me, jewellery.

Because racing jewellery was never just decorative.

Jockey silks became enamel. Horseshoes became lucky charms. Stick pins and tie pins carried the language of the turf. Horse names became jewels. Makers such as Garrard and Alabaster & Wilson turned racing, ownership, colour and victory into something wearable.

So no, Royal Ascot is not just hats and horses.

It is monarchy, class, racing, ritual and jewels.

And if you are going this week, it is the perfect excuse to bring out your pearls, brooches, stick pins, horseshoes and all the jewellery that suddenly makes perfect sense at the races.

“From little acorns, mighty oaks grow.”

I have always loved acorns as a symbol of potential, strength and the idea that the smallest beginnings can lead to the grandest things.

This charming Edwardian tie pin captures that sentiment perfectly, transforming a natural pearl, June’s birthstone into an acorn, crowned with rose-cut diamonds. A tiny jewel, but one filled with meaning.

🐎 Royal Ascot is almost here… are you ready?

To celebrate one of the most stylish weeks in the British social calendar, we’ve gathered together some of our favourite horse-themed jewels. From spirited Victorian stick pins to equestrian-inspired treasures, these little works of art capture Britain’s enduring love affair with the horse.

And if these are not quite your winner, we have plenty more antique and vintage jewels waiting to be discovered online.

Which would you wear to Ascot?

Chelsea is about to bloom… and so are the jewels. 🌸🦋🐦

To celebrate the start of the this week, I’ve gathered together a garden of antique brooches from Parkin & Gerrish. From floral sprays, glittering insects, delicate birds and blooms that look as though they have just landed from an English garden.

Every brooch is completely unique and all are available now.

A little reminder too that our private pop-up opens this week in Sloane Square:
Thursday, Friday & Saturday 🌿

If you’re visiting the Chelsea Flower Show or the Chelsea in Bloom, do come and see us. These are exactly the sort of treasures waiting for you…

Three little characters… each telling their own story 🐎🐍🐕

From the beautifully hand-painted Essex crystal horse and dog tie pins. These are miniature worlds captured beneath rock crystal to the sinuous Austro-Hungarian snake, set with diamonds, ruby and emerald, these are jewels with personality.

Animal jewellery has always carried meaning: loyalty, protection, instinct… and sometimes simply a love of the creature itself.

These are the pieces that spark conversation and the ones you never quite see twice.

And yes… every tie pin comes with its stopper (because losing one would be rather tragic).

🐝💚✨

I’ve just added a small group of new pieces to the website. It is a mix I was particularly pleased to find.

There is a mid-19th-century emerald and diamond cluster ring that immediately stood out to me. The emerald has such a fresh, lively colour, is of Colombian origin (minor oil), and comes with a certificate. Paired with rose cut diamonds, it has that softness I always look for, and the condition is exceptional.

Alongside it, a Victorian gold bee brooch, beautifully detailed, with that rich tone of 15ct gold that suits naturalistic designs so well.

I’ve also included a carnelian signet ring carved with a bird, a motif often associated with peace, renewal and affection, giving it a slightly more personal feel. We have not one but two pairs of Georgian paste earrings this time, which I felt very lucky to find, particularly as one is in a rich garnet tone. Coloured paste is far less common.

Rose gold signet rings seem to be very much in at the moment, and I’ve added a lovely example. There is also an aquamarine piece perfect for a March birthday and a wonderful last-minute present, with just the right amount of sparkle. The diamond solitaire is so beautiful on the hand, and a Georgian garnet ring with an engraved “B” feels like the perfect find for someone with that initial.

Every piece has been chosen for its character, its craftsmanship, and that sense of something slightly special.

Everything is now live on the website.

She certainly would never blow her own trumpet, so I will do it instead! Happy Mother's Day from our whole family to darling Zuleika. She is our whole world, and manages to be a mother, wife, supportive friend, the life and soul of any event, as well as a superb businesswoman. I am very much in awe of her many abilities, and here's to all women out there! You rock!
