A behind-the-scenes moment we could have kept quiet. We didn't.

When our manufacturer told us the original bracelet geometry wouldn't work on smaller wrists, despite their best efforts, we had a choice: ship it anyway, or go back and do it properly.

We went back a rethought, redesigned and re-manufactured. The wait is worth it. And why, whatever changes there are on the outside, the £35 donation behind every Ripple sale never does change.

The best moments at watch shows are rarely planned.

We were exhibiting at the Southampton Watch Show when Phil — a Scottish exhibitor from another stand — walked over. Not to talk about movements, complications or any of the usual watch-nerd chat. To show us his nails.

Iridescent, shimmering, unmistakably purple. He'd spotted our Ripple in Imperial Violet across the room and known instantly they were a match. So he came and put his hand right next to the dial to prove it.

He wasn't even meant to be looking at our watches that day — he was there helping a different brand. But colour, done boldly enough, doesn't ask permission. It just gets noticed. Give him a follow, the man clearly has taste.

This is exactly why we build watches this way: bold, distinctive, made to spark exactly this kind of moment. And every single one sold still sends a donation out into the world to help a child in need — the whole reason Edward Christopher® exists in the first place.

Sometimes the best marketing is just a lad with great nails and great taste.
