Recently placed with a client, a beautiful Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931, reference Q2788570 in stainless steel.

A wonderful modern interpretation of one of watchmaking’s most recognisable designs. First introduced in 1931, the Reverso was famously conceived with a reversible case to protect its dial during polo matches. This particular tribute captures the elegance and simplicity of that original design, with its beautifully proportioned rectangular case, striking black dial and understated baton hour markers.

Perhaps our favourite detail is the simplicity of the dial itself. Signed only ‘REVERSO’, without a Jaeger-LeCoultre signature anywhere in sight, it remains wonderfully faithful to the spirit of the original. Paired here with a dark green calfskin strap, the result is effortlessly elegant.

This particular watch was sourced for a client to commemorate his wedding day, with the solid reverse of the case subsequently engraved with a personal message to mark the occasion. It is one of the things we love most about the Reverso. Beyond its beautiful design and fascinating history, that reversible case offers the opportunity to create something deeply personal, a watch that can carry a memory for a lifetime.

Now available, a beautiful Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse reference 5738R-001 in rose gold, featuring its extraordinary sunburst ebony black dial.

First introduced in 1968, the Golden Ellipse has always occupied a rather special position within Patek Philippe’s collection. Inspired by the mathematical proportions of the golden ratio, its distinctive elliptical case offered something entirely different from the traditional round dress watches of the period. More than half a century later, the design remains as elegant and recognisable as ever.

Having enjoyed something of a resurgence in recent years, the Golden Ellipse has found a new generation of admirers. As collectors increasingly gravitate towards smaller, more understated watches, its beautifully unusual proportions and unmistakably vintage character feel particularly relevant today. Few watches manage to be quite so distinctive whilst remaining so wonderfully discreet.

This rose gold 5738R is, for us, one of the most attractive interpretations of the design. Measuring 34.5mm across and just 5.9mm thick, its wonderfully slender case frames an extraordinary sunburst ebony black dial, a finish that shifts beautifully with the light. The simplicity of the applied rose gold hour markers and delicate hands allows that remarkable dial to do all the talking. And then there is that buckle. The beautifully sculpted Ellipse-shaped prong buckle, executed in matching rose gold, is one of our favourite details on any modern Patek Philippe. A wonderfully considered finishing touch that perfectly echoes the architecture of the case itself.

This 2026 example comes to us in exceptional overall condition, showing little to no signs of wear throughout. It remains fully complete with its entirety of accessories from new. An effortlessly elegant Patek Philippe, and a watch whose appeal only seems to grow with time. Now available, a beautiful Patek Philippe Calatrava reference 5227J-001 in yellow gold, arguably one of the quintessential modern Calatravas.

Introduced in 2013, the 5227 embodies everything that makes a traditional Patek Philippe so appealing. Measuring 39mm, its beautifully proportioned yellow gold case frames an elegant ivory-coloured lacquered dial, with applied gold hour markers, dauphine hands and a discreet date at three. The dial has an almost enamel-like quality to its finish, giving this wonderfully simple watch a real sense of depth and refinement.

Perhaps its most charming feature, however, is hidden around the back. The beautifully executed officer-style hinged caseback opens to reveal a sapphire crystal and the self-winding movement beneath. This earlier example houses the calibre 324 S C, rather than the 26-330 S C found in current production. It is a lovely piece of traditional Patek Philippe design, and one that makes the 5227 feel particularly special.

Still offered in yellow gold today, and having appeared in several precious-metal configurations over the years, the 5227 remains a cornerstone of the Calatrava collection. With its current retail price approaching £40,000, we think these watches represent exceptional value on the secondary market, offering an enormous amount of Patek Philippe watchmaking for the money.

This UK-supplied example dates to 2014 and remains in exceptional condition, showing little to no wear and remaining unpolished. Fully complete with its entirety of accessories from new, it is paired here with a special-order green Patek Philippe alligator strap, a combination we think looks superb against the warmth of the yellow gold. A wonderfully understated Patek Philippe, and a reminder that sometimes the simplest watches are amongst the most satisfying to own. Three isn’t always a crowd.

A trio of very special vintage Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Minis, each with its own personality, and all recently sold.

First up, the yellow gold 66319BA. Measuring 25mm, with a beautiful ch*****ne Petite Tapisserie dial, factory diamond hour markers and a diamond-set bezel. Then the wonderfully diminutive 67076BC in white gold, measuring just 20mm, with its icy blue mother-of-pearl dial and factory diamond setting. Finally, the rather outrageous 66335BA in yellow gold, measuring 26mm and entirely adorned with factory diamonds, punctuated by vivid ruby hour markers.

Three very different interpretations of the same iconic design, and a lovely reminder of just how much character Audemars Piguet managed to squeeze into these tiny watches. We have a particular soft spot for vintage Mini Royal Oaks, especially when they come in configurations as special as these.

Now available, an extraordinary Rolex Cosmograph Daytona “Rainbow” reference 126595RBOW in Everose gold, featuring the spectacular full pavé diamond dial.

Few modern Rolex creations capture the capabilities of the manufacture’s gem-setting workshops quite like the Rainbow Daytona. Reserved for the most exclusive off-catalogue configurations, these watches are produced in exceptionally limited numbers, combining the familiar architecture of the Daytona with a level of gem-setting rarely encountered in modern sports watches.

The centrepiece is, of course, that remarkable bezel. Set with 36 baguette-cut sapphires, each stone is individually selected and meticulously arranged to create a seamless graduation of colour, moving through vivid pinks, reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues and purples. Achieving such consistency in colour, clarity and brilliance across the spectrum requires an extraordinary level of selection and craftsmanship.

This particular configuration takes things considerably further than the already spectacular “standard” Rainbow Daytona. Its dial is entirely pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, punctuated by baguette-cut sapphire hour markers which echo the colours of the bezel. Perhaps our favourite detail, however, is the contrast provided by the three crystallised Everose gold chronograph registers. Their extraordinary, almost meteorite-like texture creates a beautifully irregular pattern against the brilliance of the surrounding diamonds. Factory diamond-set lugs and crown guards complete this remarkable configuration. Despite the extraordinary gem-setting, the watch remains unmistakably a Daytona, retaining the familiar proportions and beautifully balanced design that have made the reference so enduring. It is a demonstration of what Rolex can achieve when traditional watchmaking meets the highest levels of jewellery craftsmanship.

Recently placed with a client, a rather special Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph reference 5270P-001 in platinum.

Introduced in 2018, the 5270P-001 marked the first time Patek Philippe had offered the reference 5270 in platinum. Combining two of the manufacture’s most celebrated complications, the perpetual calendar and chronograph, the 5270 continues an extraordinary lineage stretching back to the legendary reference 1518 of 1941, followed by the 2499, 3970 and 5970. Introduced in 2011, the 5270 marked an important chapter in this history as Patek Philippe’s first perpetual calendar chronograph powered by an entirely in-house chronograph movement, the manually wound calibre CH 29-535 PS Q.

What makes this original platinum 5270 particularly special, however, is its extraordinary dial. Officially described by Patek Philippe as golden opaline, its beautiful salmon colouring sits within a long tradition of some of the manufacture’s most desirable white-metal watches. Perhaps more importantly, the 5270P-001 remains the only serially produced platinum 5270 to feature applied Arabic numerals, with subsequent platinum iterations adopting baton hour markers. The combination of those sculpted numerals, blackened hands and warm salmon dial against the cool platinum case is almost impossible to improve upon.

At 41mm, the 5270P has tremendous presence without sacrificing the elegance expected of a traditional Patek Philippe Grand Complication. Turn the watch over and the spectacular hand-finished movement is equally impressive, revealing the mechanical complexity hidden beneath that beautifully balanced dial.

We have always considered the 5270P-001 a particularly important modern Patek Philippe. As the first platinum interpretation of the reference, with a dial configuration never repeated in subsequent platinum models, it occupies a special position within the 5270 family. An absolute favourite of ours, and a watch we were delighted to place with its new owner. Now available, a Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Travel Time reference 5326G-001 in white gold.

Introduced in 2022, the 5326G brings together two of Patek Philippe’s most useful complications, combining its Annual Calendar with the Travel Time system in a single watch. Local and home time are displayed alongside day, date and month, with a moon-phase indication at six, creating an unusually practical Complication that remains remarkably intuitive to read.

Visually, however, it is the ex*****on that makes the 5326G particularly special. Its charcoal-grey dial has a wonderfully granular texture inspired by vintage camera bodies, contrasted by applied white-gold Arabic numerals and warm beige luminous material deliberately chosen to evoke the character of aged radium. The result feels distinctly vintage without becoming pastiche. The case is equally impressive. Measuring 41mm in white gold, its polished surfaces give way to beautifully intricate Clous de Paris hobnailing around the entire caseband, a detail made possible by attaching the lugs separately to leave the decoration uninterrupted. It is the sort of detail easily missed in photographs, but one that becomes incredibly impressive once the watch is in hand.

This 2023 example comes to us in lightly used overall condition, remaining completely unpolished and showing only light signs of wear throughout. It is fully complete with its entirety of accessories from new and is shown here on its beautifully complementary brown calfskin strap. A technically serious Patek Philippe with an unusually relaxed aesthetic, the 5326G manages to combine genuine mechanical complexity with exceptional everyday wearability. Now available, an exceptionally rare Audemars Piguet Royal Oak reference 56323BA in yellow gold, dating to circa 1994.

Through extensive research, we have been able to find just one other example of the 56323BA previously offered for sale, a blue-dial example appearing in Phillips’ Royal Oak 50th Anniversary auction. Seemingly a gem-set evolution of the reference 56175, the thinnest Royal Oak ever produced, the 56323BA takes the same wonderfully slim 33mm proportions and adds a factory diamond-set bezel alongside matching diamond hour markers.

The dial, however, is what makes this particular watch so special. Rather than the familiar Tapisserie finish, it features a flat gold-coloured surface which has developed an extraordinary natural patina. What would originally have been a more uniform gold has aged progressively around its perimeter into a deep golden brown, creating an almost vignette-like effect that is completely unique to this watch. Surrounded by the brilliant-cut diamond bezel, the result is quite beautiful. At 33mm, its proportions are wonderfully deceptive on the wrist, wearing considerably larger than the dimensions might suggest. More impressive still is its extraordinary thinness, giving the watch an elegance quite unlike almost any other Royal Oak.

Its preservation is equally remarkable. The watch remains in near new-old-stock condition and we believe it to be completely unpolished and possibly never sized. The bracelet remains exceptionally tight, showing only light signs of wear, whilst the engravings and hallmarks across the caseback and inner clasp remain extraordinarily crisp, including the all-important Gay Frères hallmark.

Coming to us as a watch only, this is a Royal Oak we are tremendously excited to have discovered. Exceptionally rare, beautifully preserved and with a dial that has developed a character entirely of its own, we look forward to continuing to learn more about this very special reference. Now available, an extraordinary Patek Philippe Celestial reference 6102R-001 in rose gold, one of the manufacture’s most mesmerising astronomical Grand Complications.

The Celestial is watchmaking on an entirely different level. Its constantly moving sky chart depicts the night sky of the Northern Hemisphere, displaying the apparent movement of the stars, the position and phases of the Moon, its orbit and the meridian passage of both the Moon and Sirius. Hours and minutes of mean solar time are displayed alongside a central date hand around the dial’s circumference. All of this is driven by the self-winding calibre 240 LU CL C, comprising 305 components yet measuring just 6.81mm thick.

At 44mm, the 6102R is certainly substantial by Patek Philippe standards, yet its beautifully proportioned case and remarkably restrained 10.58mm thickness allow it to wear exceptionally well. The rose gold provides a wonderful warmth against the extraordinary celestial display, paired here with a vibrant canary-yellow alligator strap and matching rose-gold deployant clasp.

Now discontinued, the 6102R occupied a particularly rarefied position within Patek Philippe’s Grand Complications collection. Watches of this complexity were never destined to be produced in significant numbers, and the Celestial remains one of those references seldom encountered outside serious collections. More than anything, it is simply mesmerising to wear. The depth and movement of its astronomical display mean the dial seems to change every time you look at it.

This 2023 example remains in exceptional overall condition and is completely unpolished, with beautifully preserved proportions throughout. It is also fully complete with its entirety of accessories from new. A truly epic piece of Patek Philippe watchmaking, and one that manages to turn an extraordinary feat of mechanical astronomy into something genuinely beautiful on the wrist. Now available, a remarkable Audemars Piguet Royal Oak “Mini” reference 66319BA in yellow gold.

There is something particularly special about these vintage Mini Royal Oaks. Measuring just 25mm across, this 66319BA distils the unmistakable architecture of the Royal Oak into wonderfully diminutive proportions, executed entirely in yellow gold and complemented by a beautiful matching ch*****ne Petite Tapisserie dial. Factory diamond hour markers sit almost seamlessly within the dial, whilst the factory-set brilliant-cut diamond bezel provides just enough contrast, glistening beautifully against an otherwise incredibly tonal configuration. It is, for us, just about the perfect Mini Royal Oak.

This particular example was sold in November 1993 and, remarkably, looks and feels almost brand new more than three decades later. The case and bracelet show little to no signs of wear throughout and appear to remain unpolished, with razor-sharp engravings and beautifully deep hallmarks still present. Its full-length Gay Frères bracelet remains exceptionally tight and retains its original hallmarked clasp. The “MOD. BREVETE” signature simply denotes the clasp as a patented model, a lovely period detail preserved exactly as it left the manufacture.

Perhaps equally remarkable is how meticulously the watch has been kept. It remains fully complete with its original presentation box, Certificate of Origin, guarantee documentation, booklets and its entirety of links from new, alongside Bucherer service documentation dating from 2019. Its condition and completeness are a true testament to the careful storage and ownership it has enjoyed since new.

We have been fortunate enough to handle a number of exceptional vintage Mini Royal Oaks, but this is undoubtedly one of the nicest we have had the pleasure of purchasing. Beautifully preserved, wonderfully complete and with a configuration that feels almost impossible to improve upon, it has quickly become a favourite.
