With this year’s Met Gala theme placing fashion firmly within the realm of art, Fibres of Meaning arrives as a timely reflection of that dialogue. Our collaboration with Claudia Alarcón marks a rare and significant convergence between high jewellery and fine art, bringing together centuries-old Wíchi weaving traditions with contemporary jewellery craftsmanship.
Alarcón’s practice carries cultural narratives that span generations. Her work has been recognised internationally, from the Venice Biennale to major institutional collections, positioning her as one of the most important voices in contemporary textile art today.
This is a rare moment in which high jewellery does not simply reference art, but becomes a site for it. By encasing her weavings within high jewellery for the first time, Fibres of Meaning creates a new category of object, where textile, sculpture, and jewellery exist as one.
