There are a handful of events which I value so much that everything else gets put to one side to accommodate them.

ORIGINALLUXURY Roundtables are one of those events. They explore in depth how technology can be used to authenticate and secure supply chains to ensure trust, integrity and brand value. The latest event, “Luxury in Acceleration,” took place on 6 May 2026 at Château Le Rosey, Switzerland.

The closed-door gathering brought together luxury executives, technology partners, academics, and industry leaders to discuss the evolving role of transparency, responsible practices, digital innovation and accountability across the luxury sector.

As always, it was a fascinating deep dive into how businesses should, and are, securing their supply chains to ensure value for both the business and clients. Thanks as always to Margot and her team for organising a fabulous, thought-provoking event.

Fine jewellery and watches are inextricably linked. Intensely personal, they are typically gifted to celebrate significant occasions and both are worn on the person - giving them a sense of intimacy that no other object can replicate. This is the intangible quality which makes inherited family pieces so cherished.

Both are finely crafted, often by hand, beautifully designed and subject to constant evolution, reinvention and innovation. Incidentally, the watch industry is the greatest consumer of melée (small) diamonds…

So when offered the opportunity to participate in a masterclass at Jaeger-LeCoultre, I didn’t hesitate. Under the watchful eye and supervision of a watchmaker, we disassembled a Master Control movement and then reassembled it.

It was intricate work which requires patience, dexterity, concentration and a calm mindset. I was delighted (and relieved) that my movement worked seamlessly at the conclusion of the exercise.

My sincere thanks to the team at Jaeger-LeCoultre for this wonderful experience, which strengthened my (already deep) respect for their extraordinary time pieces and craft.

Seeking a gift for the long term with oodles of options?

Jewellery is the ultimate personal gift. It is worn on your person, often for years at a time.

These detachable diamond-set hearts have an enamelled reverse side. The diamonds add a dash of sparkle and they can be worn in a multitude of ways. The hoops can be worn alone; with the diamond hearts facing forward; with the coloured enamel heart facing forward; one of each if you like asymmetry; or suspended from other earrings like these enamel and diamond hoops. That offers a lot of looks for a single gift...

The choice of an antique inspired ring featuring a large old mine cut diamond was an bold choice to celebrate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement.

Old mine cuts, which were the norm in the 18th century, pre date modern cutting technology and geometry, so the stones were largely fashioned according to the shape of the rough, and to maximise its beauty and brilliance when exposed to candlelight.

They typically feature high crowns with a small table and large culets. Well fashioned and symmetrical old mine cuts are extremely desirable, and one this size will be rare (and expensive).

Continuing the trend for fancy cut diamonds, the style of cut is an elongated cushion cut, which looks great on all fingers!

Sun pendants are a stylish addition to any jewel box and available in a range of different designs - all with sprinkle of sparkle. 

The rolo chain necklace has four adjustable lengths- 37.5cm at its shortest to 45cm at its longest. (The jump rings are set at 15″, 16″, 17″ and 18″). This simple feature provides welcome versatility to those who love layering necklaces. The trick to effective layering is creating contrasts between size, shape and colour.
