Can you solve a real business challenge in just one day? 💡

On 23 February, students from our University put their skills to the test during an exciting Business Hackathon, working directly with industry partners to develop solutions to real-world business challenges 🤩

After meeting their clients and exploring the briefs, teams spent the day collaborating, problem-solving, and refining their ideas before presenting their final pitches to academic leads and employers 🤝

We were delighted to welcome organisations including The Gym Kitchen, Sweet Dee's Jerk, Bodha Drinks, Flawsome! Drinks | B Corp™, Belu, and Kitchen at Holmes, who challenged students to think creatively and strategically

From brainstorming sessions to final presentations, students demonstrated impressive innovation, teamwork, and presentation skills while gaining valuable industry insight 🚀

HR 3600: Theory Meets Practice - HR Bootcamp at IIT Business School ✨

On 2nd February, the HR 3600: Theory Meets Practice - HR Bootcamp, organised by the BizLink Society of IIT Business School, brought together second-year BA (Hons) Business Management students for a full-day immersive learning experience focused on bridging HR theory with real-world practice 👏

Designed to move students from passive learners to active problem-solvers, the bootcamp combined interactive sessions, hands-on activities, role plays, group case analyses and presentations to help students apply HR concepts to realistic business scenarios 🤩

Students gained valuable insights from leading HR professionals including:
Ruchini Weerawardena - Senior Manager, Talent Management & Development, Sysco Labs
Maas Savanghan - Global Centre of Excellence Leader for Learning & Development, Rizing LLC

The afternoon student presentations were reviewed by an industry panel comprising Manori Bandara (Hutch Telecommunications), senior HR leaders from Infomate (a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings), alongside senior academics from IIT Business School 👏
