One of October's two birthstones, alongside tourmaline, opal reveals a shifting play of colour from blue and green to pink and fire, so much so that the ancient Romans believed it contained every gemstone colour within one.

An evening of engagement rings and the loveliest company.

Guests joined us last night for Cassandra's Engagement Ring Masterclass, moving through six stations devoted to diamonds, gemstone colours and cuts, ring styles, bespoke design and finding the perfect fit. A workbook guided them along the way, and as they noted their favourites, the ring they had been dreaming of began to take shape.
