💎 Beautiful, practical and perfectly bespoke

This gorgeous oval diamond solitaire was designed specifically for a client who works in the medical industry and is constantly putting gloves on and taking them off.

Set entirely in platinum, the smooth rubover setting means there are no claws to catch on her gloves, while the open underside allows light to reach the diamond and show off its sparkle. ✨

I’ve also designed it so her wedding ring can sit perfectly flush alongside it.

A little appreciation for some of my recently collected pieces 💍

Whether it’s a colourless 🤍, yellow 💛, or black 🖤 diamond, one thing I’ve noticed recently is that my clients are choosing yellow gold over white gold or platinum 😯

Yellow gold is warm, rich, and timeless, creating a beautiful contrast with colourless diamonds while complementing the tones of coloured stones.

My client was worried about losing her beautiful yellow diamond after the four claws holding it in place had become worn and started catching.

A visit to the workshop, and three services later:
🔧 Repair – replacing all four claws to make sure her diamond is secure.
✨ Cleaning – bringing back that beautiful sparkle.
📋 Insurance valuation – providing an updated valuation so her jewellery is properly documented for insurance purposes.

Bringing her back to life 💎

This original ring was one of the first I made over 30 years ago — and she’s still going strong.
She’s been updated over the years and has recently been back in the workshop for a little TLC.
Claw set with an open setting to allow plenty of natural light into the centre stone, and finished with channel-set diamond shoulders, she’s looking as beautiful, and up to date, as ever.
More than 30 years later, I think this proves the point that, with proper jewellery care (and a proper jeweller 😉), diamonds really are forever. 💎
