Cartier ‘Jumbo Horizontale’ ref 97051 - This watch is one of the true sleepers of vintage Cartier collecting and they rarely come up at all, let alone in this condition.
This watch was produced in extremely limited numbers during the 1970s, collectors estimate production to be well under 100 examples, with some suggesting as few as 50–70 pieces of which very few still exist today. The oversized case has a great presence, yet sits nicely even on a smaller wrist due to the horizontal layout. It’s this bold yet chic design in combination with rarity that makes this one of the most elusive vintage Cartiers on the market today.
