Rare Holbeinesque earrings of dreams ❤️

During the Victorian era, ‘Holbeinesque’ jewelry became popular, inspired by the detailed portraits and sketches of Hans Holbein the Younger, a renowned 16th-century artist. Holbein, esteemed court painter to Henry VIII, created exceptional depictions of Tudor royalty and nobility, providing a vivid window into the past for generations to come.

Victorian jewelers emulated the Renaissance style found in Holbein’s portraits, characterised by ornate enamel work and central coloured gemstones - reflecting a fascination with the opulence of the Tudor period and the revival of historical designs. Finding jewels from this period in such immaculate condition is exciting and particularly rare and unusual to find earrings.
