Rolex Oyster Perpetual, 1954 — Ref. 6286 | Semi Bubbleback | Honeycomb Dial

One of the finest honeycomb dials we’ve ever come across.

A truly special early Oyster Perpetual from the golden era of Rolex design.

This ref. 6286 carries all the charm of mid-century Rolex experimentation — the distinctive semi bubbleback case, a faceted yellow gold bezel, and a beautifully aged honeycomb dial in Explorer-style layout with the applied 3-6-9 markers.

The honeycomb texture is what makes this piece stand out most — a dial ex*****on rarely seen at this level, with depth and character that shift under light in a way modern production simply doesn’t replicate. Collectors often consider these early patterned dials among the most expressive of the era.

NOW SOLD — 1990s Cartier Tank Obus Mécanique CPCP Ref. 2380 | Bullet Lugs

A rare expression from the Cartier Collection Privée (CPCP) era, when Cartier returned to mechanical watchmaking with real restraint, proportion, and respect for design history.

This Tank Obus Ref. 2380 stands apart with its distinctive bullet-shaped lugs, a subtle but architectural detail that gives the case a sharper, more sculptural presence on the wrist. A design language you only really appreciate in metal, in hand.

Silver guilloché dial, Roman numerals, and blued Breguet hands — classic Cartier codes executed at a level that made the CPCP period so important for collectors today. Manual-wind, as it should be.
