Leaning in to the textured bezels of recent work for honing a style in clay. The last batch of ring bowls & stud stands are feeling more cohesive. Simple forms / lots of line. I’m itching to over complicate things - There is time 🐢 This is the beginning 🕰️

Can’t wait to fill the new cabinets with creations. All terracotta display pieces will be for sale alongside the jewels they home. It’s been fun to break away from metal. The unsettling feeling of working in large scale is shrinking. I realise these are still tiny in the world of clay 🔍😅

Can’t quite put into words how much yesterday meant. Richie & Nic from have been the absolute dream team. Taking my scrawly sketches and turning them into something so beautiful. And Grandpa’s bench. I can’t type anything without crying!He would be so proud it’s sitting centre in the new studio, it’s been repurposed into the display counter after gathering dust in the garage for many years since I stopped using it in the old JQ workshop. I’m so pleased to now be using it again.

Huge thank you to everyone involved, the electricians have done an awesome job too, the space is really taking shape now 💕

It’s almost time to move in 🚐🚪✨

We’re a week behind with updates! After 3 full days of painting with Mom - we have a first floor in and a downstairs in 🤩

It really felt like things came together once we started on downstairs. The place is starting to feel like it has some character & less resembles a building site 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Today has been a busy one with second fix and cabinets install but I’ll save that excitement for tomorrow 😘✨

Huge thank you Mom for not only painting, sanding, floor scrubbing & brush cleaning - but forever encouraging my creativity. Thank you (& see you Friday for more painting 🙈😅)

Plastering complete! A week to dry so no painting downstairs just yet but four tins have landed 🙌🏻 Colours have been decided upon. Now that is major progress. Gone for Lick Red 03 & Blue 08 🩵♥️

Mom is over Thursday so we can get started on upstairs ‘The Sky’ ☁️ …just need to get all holes filled before then so we can crack on 💪 Putting it out there but you know that’s gonna get done in a flap Thurs am.

Thank you for bearing with feed of running to do lists! Helpful my end to A. Avert brain implosion & B. Make sure the studio becomes a studio!! 😘📝 Jewellery talk will resume at some point.

Plastering! 🤩 So relieved to see holes disappearing! Poor old space has taken a bit of a battering whilst we rejig electrics. Can’t wait to see how it looks with smooth clean walls. Next update will have to wait until Monday as we are off on the first camping trip of the year ⛺️⛈️🍢

Can’t put it off any longer. Must narrow down paint shades.

Thinking of sticking to brand colours for safety! From trusty colour bible. Etruscan Red & Nile Blue. Earth & Sky 🌅

I love the terracotta as that was on our Stirchley kitchen walls & in the Shedio. Blue for upstairs is a bit of a wild card.

Still feeling like I gotta get turquoise in there. Downstairs ceiling maybe like the Shedio??!

Fabric shopping with Auntie Jude!
If you’ve been following for a while you may have heard of Judith’s craft attic of dreams. It is an Aladdin’s cave of everything craft you can imagine. Sewing, stained glass, marbling, crochet …not sure there’s any pottery kit up there actually 🧐

On my last road trip - Marbling was the subject and I got to don Judith’s ticking fabric cross back apron. Well - who knew you could fall in love with an apron. This is possible it seems. So now we are making four Japanese style cross back aprons to keep you splatter free in craft time.

I say we - sewn by Judith - I did the easy bit!

What do you think of the fabrics?!

I woke up this morning dreaming of jumpsuits & shirts but let’s not get ahead of ourselves 😆
