Today was the first match of the Blackwater Summer League on the Argory stretch of the River Blackwater. After a few skimmers showing last week in the knockup hopes were high that today we could see it improve further.
It’s actually fished tougher day than any match so far with very little bites for most anglers top angler on the day was Darren Cloran with 1.375kg followed by Adam Baile in 2nd with a skimmer and some small fish and Jacko in 3rd place with 0.825kg well done lads on a very tough day.

Section winners: Johnn McKinley, J***y Keith, Darren Cloran, Adam Bailie.

Next round is in 2 weeks time we’re hopefully things improve slightly 🙏🎣🐟

Back to the Argory again for another club knock up before the league starts proper next weekend. After last weekend everyone knew it was going to be tough going today with the skimmers not showing at all last weekend.
Finally today a few have shown up on the low numbers section with Tommy Tennison winning the match with 3.950kg from peg 7 with some skimmers. Second on the day was Johnny Mckinley from the high numbers section with 2.150kg of small fish from peg 16 and third was John Walker with 1.900kg from peg 4.
Next Saturday the league will start and hopefully it will improve further by then 🤞

At the end of July we are going to Croatia for the World Feeder Clubs 🇭🇷🎣
As you can imagine funding these trips is very expensive getting the gear over there and everything else that goes with it.

Today we’ve held our first club match of the year on the Argory section of the River Blackwater. Conditions were not ideal with a low clear river and a cold northerly wind which hasn’t helped things at all. Our league is starting in 2 weeks time on the Argory and we were hoping the skimmers had moved up onto the section but unfortunately they haven’t showed today.
Top angler on the day and his first match fishing with Lurgan was Darren Cloran who’s had 30 odd fish on the pole for 1 kilo dead, followed closely by Scooby in 2nd with 0.975kg and Johnny Mckinley in 3rd place with 0.850kg.
Well done Darren! Next Saturday we will be holding another knock up on the Argory were hopefully a few better fish will start to show!

Today a few club members fished a match on Yellow Island, Muckno. Fishing was patchy as the fish are on the way to spawn but there was still some numbers of fish to be caught with the odd bonus skimmer showing as well.
Top weight on the day was Scooby with 6.550kg followed by Phil Walton in 2nd with 5.550kg and Adam Bailie in 3rd place with 4.150kg.
Well done lads great fishing 👏

Next club match will be this Saturday 9th May on the River Blackwater the Argory section.

This years AGM will be at Brownlow Castle, Lurgan on the 24th February at 7.30pm.
Dues (£30) must be paid on or before this date.
Any proposals must be made before 10th February to Paul Heaney Club Secretary.
All members are asked to attend!
New members are very welcome and under 18’s the membership is free to join the club.
