Here's a new painting I completed last week.

I painted the background using yellow, yellow green and emerald green streaks. Originally, it was meant to be more yellow than green but I got a bit too carried away.

Next the dark streaks on the right corner and left hand side was supposed to be a burnt out tree but it went wrong. So, I faded it by painting green and yellow over it. Then added some streaks over creating burnt leaves instead.

Then, I went onto painting the ground which was completely unplanned. I started with the ground first using black paint and then decided to add grass, fire and some broken and cracked dinosaur eggs. The eggs were originally going to stay green but I felt it needed more colours, especially where light and dark were concerned.

Next, I painted a meteor shower and didn't really know where to begin. So, I painted some burnt twigs, meteors in black, white and yellow streaks with the largest one on fire up close. The one in the middle right hand side is pterodactyl burnt to a crisp and it was completely accidental but effective.

I decided to add some brontosaurs as they were the easiest to draw. First, I painted the co**se on the bottom of the painting in between the eggs, painted an open bloody wound on the young dinosaur, exposing its bones. I've never painted wounds and injuries especially in this much detail.

Lastly, I added the last two wounded brontosaurs by mixing the colours into dark brown while keeping green and red colours visible on them to reflect the light. Plus, the painting the plates on their backs. I painted beady eyes on them as I wasn't looking to make them look realistic. I didn't feel they needed mouths.

I've always wanted to paint a meteor shower and especially dinosaurs. This was surprisingly easy to paint despite having trouble with details.

Despite the darkness of this piece, I enjoyed painting this piece and learnt to how to get better at adding detail without overthinking it.

Thanks. 🥰

Here's a piece I completed a week ago of my Voidwalker from World of Warcraft.

I drew the outline of it on a black canvas board and forgot to paint the background. Added the background and coloured it in using pencil colours. I added it's muscles, the unstable void energy under it but didn't worry too much about the extra details of it's bracers.

The quotes around are what it's says when it's summoned. My Voidwalker is called Sarmon.

Painting this was fun and fairly straightforward. I used purple, blue, purple, black and yellow Derwent pencil colours, acrylic paint pen and blue, purple and white acrylic paints.

Thanks. 🥰

Here's my pencil colour drawing on canvas of Count Pikachu.

First, I drew his outline and added details as I went along. Used a few different shades of yellow pencil colours, red, black and some white paint pen for his teeth as white wouldn't stand out enough against the outline. Then added the background in blue and white.

The black canvas boards are great for pencil colour and other mediums. They're not as grainy as the white canvas boards. Hence a lot of smoother. Derwent Coloursoft and Derwent Drawing Pencil Colours are amazing to work with. They blend incredibly well and aren't stressful. Pricey but worth it.

There's a lot I need to improve on this yet but it's a start.

Thanks. 🥰

Here's a commission I drew for Bethany Jane Pavey of her cat Matt Cat. My very first pencil colour drawing on canvas. Originally, it was going to be a painting but changed my mind when I started to draw him.

First, I painted the background black, let it set and then drew the outline of Matt Cat. I was using pencil colours as a guideline at first, then realised it would work out far better than painting.

I used skin tone colour pencils to add dark to light which didn't work out at all. White pencil colour wouldn't blend properly, so I ended up buying of box of 12 Derwent Pencil Colours. They're pure magic and worth the price.

First, I coloured his eyes in, added the light then coloured the markings on his face using skin tone pencils with a bit black and white to give it some texture.

Colouring his lips, chin and front was very tricky until I added some foreshadowing on his chin and and collarbone. I was trying to avoid making hid face look flat by extending the marking on his lip to thin them a bit. I used pink and a spot of white for his lips and added some shadow to his chin and cheek.

For his chest, I used yellow, brown black and white pencil colour. A lot of yellow and white to bring out the colours. I was trying to make his fur look soft but it ended up looking coarse instead.

Overall, I enjoyed drawing and colouring this piece despite its challenges.

Also, here's the original picture for comparison.

Here's a new painting I completed yesterday.

Unsure of what I was going to paint, I just painted the background with patches of blue and white paint and worked with the shapes on the painting.

First, I started to paint the iceberg which worked out very well as the shapes fell perfectly. It just needed to be defined a bit more.

I left a bit of space for sky by adding faded mountains to separate land and sky for later to work on the rest of the painting.

Originally, I was going to add snow where the glacier is but it didn't work out. I was unable to separate the snow from the iceberg without mixing them together. Adding a lake didn't work either.

So, I used Iron Blue paint to paint the mountains and it worked perfectly. Then added cyan blue and white paint to create ice and snowy rocks.

Lastly, I went back to painting the clouds in the sky. I was tempted to add some fir trees but decided not to as in the end, I didn't think this painting needed any happy trees this time. 😅

This piece was fun if slightly frustrating to paint. But I learnt that painting ice is far easier than painting snow.

I will be painting again but less frequently while I get other comics and drawings sorted.

Thanks. 🥰

Here's my new and final piece for now.

I kept the background and scarlet coloured ground from my previous piece and worked with it.

Painted the river first leading up to a waterfall but I found it too difficult. So, ended up painting some rushing water in a marshland with a very faded purple mountain on the right hand side.

My main focus was on what to paint on the scarlet ground. A tree wouldn't have worked in this painting. So, I decided to paint some mushrooms which were very straightforward, easy and fun to draw and paint. I used a mixture of Iron Blue and white paint to paint the mushrooms as well as adding light and shadow.

Finally, I painted some fireflies above the mushrooms. Not entirely sure what they were going to be at first but managed to avoid making more mistakes. 😅

I really enjoyed painting this piece. 😊

On another note, I'm going to give painting a short break and focus on some drawings. Sometimes, I switch between painting and drawing to improve on them. Plus, taking a break is always a good thing if and when you need it.

Thanks. 🥰

Here's a new painting I completed recently.

I used an already painted canvas which didn't work out and painted a night sky over it. It took a good while to blend the iron blue and white together while trying to work out what this piece was going to be. Flicked white paint to create the stars and shooting stars.

Next, I paint the ground and a lake in the middle. Left it for the time being to focus on painting the mountain. Made the mountain look frosty rather than covered in snow. I didn't want to over do it.

Back to painting the ground. I wanted to separate the ground from the lake, so it made the ground look rocky with some white paint to make it stand out.

Lastly, painting the lake was surprisingly easier than I thought. Blending iron blue and white and creating light and darker parts of the lake worked out really well. I didn't intend to create a reflection. This painting was challenging but worked out surprisingly well.

Thanks. 🥰

Here's my new painting.

I accidentally created a Bob Ross style painting without intending to.

First, I painted the background with a mixture of blue, blue turquoise, green, white and purple paint and blended them all together while using less green paint to give the sky a cloudy late afternoon look.

Then I painted the ground and hill with Iron blue, white and blue paint by dabbing and blending the paint to create texture. I used some green paint to create faded grass and left it unfinished on purpose.

I added the small waterfall as I felt it was the perfect addition to the scenery. It worked out perfectly. Painting the trees worked out surprisingly well. I used iron blue to paint them, green to paint the leaves and spots of white paint to add life to the trees.

Painting the snowy mountain behind the hill was surprisingly easy as I just used blue and white paint. I dabbed and occasionally blended white paint to give it a snowy look.

Lastly, painting flying birds with iron blue paint was perfect in completing this piece.

I completed this painting very quickly without any issues.

Thank you. 🥰🥰
