Good luck to everyone who is entering Cake International 2021.
This was my entry from November 2015. Was the first and last time I ever entered this competition.
I am proud to say I achieved a Silver Award for my entry into Wedding Cakes Category of 3 or more tiers.
One of the judges said my piping skills were exquisite, so was blown away by that comment.
Will I do it again? 🤔
Maybe, then I can show some more piping skills and hopefully get a Gold Award 😉

Halloween

Last one of this challenge
I have missed the last few, as we were away and the WiFi was a complete hit and miss.
Had a great time being away with the family, it was certainly a needed break from everything.

Did you do much over half term?

Pirate

Haven't really got anything Pirate's, so Descendants it is.
Actually I know I made a pirate ship a very long time ago, so long ago that it was probably taken on a 35mm 📷 😂
Going back to the Descendants, this cake was made again for our youngest Daughter's birthday

Flavour

Madeira cake is my most popular flavour I make.
It is filled with creamy vanilla buttercream and strawberry jam if requested by the customer

Figure

Loved making this.
Was a bit of a challenge to work out how to make the bike, but got there in the end.
Plus this was a late order for me as well as the lady had been let down unfortunately.

Gothic

Wedding cake for a lovely couple that wanted something different. With their ideas I created this for them.
It is always a great pleasure to be able to have the chance to create a couples vision.

Food

My kids love to set me challenges for their birthday cakes.
This is one of them!!
Drumstick sweet lolly.
It was made for our youngest Daughter's 8th Birthday.
It's a great illusion cake to make

Storage

Cakemakers love storage solutions for all the bits we buy, either in our local cake supplies, online or the place of all places Cake International where we say we need it and will use it 😀
This piping nozzle pot I bought many years ago, in my then local cake supply shop . I found out about this place from a college friend who had discovered this place.
I've never seen this piping nozzle pot anywhere else, so no idea where you could even purchase one now.
But it's something I have always used, and it keeps them in great condition.

Flowers

These are all handmade from flowerpaste. I have always used Squires Kitchen Shop flowerpaste when making my flowers and leaves.

Freesia's were my Mum's favourite flowers💕

Do you have a favourite flower?

I'm not one for flowers personally but they are certainly beautiful to look at. Gardening isn't my forfeit either, I'm too worried about what I will find lurking in the dirt 😂 even though my star sign says I should be great with plants.

Bake

In lockdown I think we all did a little baking to pass the time.
I had some bread left over which wouldn't be great for eating. So decided to use it in some bread pudding.
