The inaugural Manchester Jewellery Week “I Wanna Be Adorned” is a fabulous citywide celebration of contemporary handmade Jewellery, art jewellery & adornment.

Manchester Jewellers Network has curated this exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery Shop.
“24 Carat Party People” at Manchester Art Gallery brings together a diverse collective of eleven contemporary jewellers from Manchester Jewellers Network to translate the city’s radical musical heritage into wearable art. Independent makers bridge the gap between subcultural soundwaves and tangible adornment, juxtaposing the gritty, moody, industrial minimalism of late-70s post-punk (Joy Division, New Order) with the baggy, euphoric, kaleidoscopic swagger of the Madchester era (The Stone Roses, Chemical Brothers). Through sharp geometric metalwork and unexpected textures, the artists immortalise these sonic rhythms, capturing the iconic energy of the legendary Manchester music scene using everything from precious metals, vitreous enamels, and gemstones to glass, 3D printing, and vinyl.

MANCHESTER JEWELLERY WEEK IS HERE!!

Running from 10-16th September various venues across the city are celebrating contemporary handmade jewellery and adornment.
MJW is the first jewellery week to take place in the UK with a unique & dedicated program of exhibitions, events, workshops, tours, walks & open studios.

I am so humbled and excited to be part of this amazing event in my hometown.

My Posie range is available to view at Studio 6 in Manchester Craft and Design centre as part of the Suffragette Trail.
The Holloway brooch was designed by Sylvia Pankhurst and given to suffragette prisoners by the WSPU on their release from prison. The reclaiming of the broad arrow motif from HMP feels powerful, symbolising the resilience and defiance of the Suffragette movement.
This inspired my sterling silver Posie range, using the language of flowers and the broad arrow motif to express hidden messages, resistance, solidarity and remembrance.

I’m so happy to share this absolute belter of a ring, made for a fellow maker from all the heirloom gold she could gather!
Beautifully hammered edges give a touch of glamour.
This is the chunkiest ring I’ve ever made & I’m obsessed!

Sweet dreams Cheery Littlebottom ❤️

Last week we had to say goodbye to our little Tiger after 16 years, the house feels empty without her & I keep looking for her in the garden. She would be loving this hot weather, she was truly solar powered.
I’m still making but everything is a little slower & the world is greyer without her 💔
