The Sea Glass Company

The Sea Glass Company A lockdown walk changed my life and now I’m a sea glass artist specialising in handcrafted jewellery, engaging sea glass talks, and creative workshops.

I love sharing the history, beauty and storytelling of sea glass while helping others create with it.

A couple of weeks ago I turned up to an art class without realising it was one of their “bring your own work” evenings. For a moment I was tempted to turn straight back around as the room was full of incredibly talented painters, and it has been quite a while since I’d had to create something completely off the cuff.

But I stayed, and I’m really glad I did. In the end, it became less about comparing work and more about meeting new people and stepping a little outside my comfort zone. We all ended up at the pub afterwards for a chat and a laugh, which made the evening feel warm and welcoming after all.

After a lovely rest in Yorkshire last weekend visiting a friend, I’m now gearing up for another busy weekend.

I’m really looking forward to welcoming some new sea glass fans to my beginner’s workshop. There are still two spaces left if you fancy spending a relaxing morning switching off from everyday life and getting creative.

I’m also working on dates for the wire weaving course around what’s turning into a very busy few months, so thank you for bearing with me. I know a few of you are waiting for updates!

I’m also putting together some links for the tools I use and thinking about creating a few starter kits too.

Would that be something you’d be interested in?

One final thing, I’m putting together a little book about how it all started, sharing what I’ve learned and some of the photos I’ve taken of my finds.

What would you like to know?

I’ve just received the most heart-warming feedback from one of my workshop attendees. Yesterday was full of laughter, creativity and connection, and messages like this are exactly what keep me sharing what I have learned and love.

“I had such fun, felt so inspired and enjoyed the company of you both. I have already ordered the book, wire and pliers, plus a silver chain for that inspirational piece of yours that I bought. I am looking forward to perfecting the techniques and coming back to learn more.” We didn’t create the image I’m sharing, but it came up in my memories so I thought I’d share it.
