Sometimes it absolutely baffles me the scum we have in this village.

Been up to the cemetery yesterday to repair a memorial bench after some absolute as***le drove into it, probably the same idiot that hit three cremation stones not so long ago and just drove off.

Repaired the bench and left my clamp on it overnight whilst the resin set, and surprise surprise some lowlife rat has stolen the clamp.
Are you really that desperate and pathetic, you gutless turd.

No vehicles should be in the cemetery unless authorised.
TRY WALKING.

If anyone witnessed what vehicle it is, possibly a silver/grey 4x4, please let the Earls Barton Parish Council know.

Started on a new project today.

This will be a full restoration, deep clean of the stone and flower ern, lift one side that has sunk, re-fix loose kerbs, tap in and secure lead lettering, prepare for an ashes internment in the centre.
Sieve, wash and put back the glass chippings then add some new to top up.
Will soon have it looking in a near original condition ❤️.

When my customer, Laura Birch contacted me to see if I could clean her brothers headstone, it was an absolute honour to be asked to take care of something so very special, and also for a very special occasion the following day for a gathering of family and her brother’s fellow Royal Marines.

I have the utmost respect for all of our military personnel, past and present, and it’s always a privilege to clean or restore war graves and memorials ❤️

Working on this beautiful red granite headstone today.
Cleaned, scrubbed and treated the stone to kill off lichen, algae and blackspot.
Repainted the inscription with gold leaf paint from Goldfarben , the best paint on the market for headstones.
Finished with a polish and two silk yellow roses ❤️

Whilst working over in East Haddon, I remembered this is the resting place of Annie Pritchard, an incredibly sad story I read about last year and thought next time I’m over that area I’ll give the headstone a wash down and tidy.
The poor girl was murdered and some of her remains were found decomposing in a ditch nearby.
The part of this story I find most disturbing is the fact that her body wasn’t complete, and because of that the local vicar/priest wouldn’t allow her to be buried in the main churchyard, so she was buried in a corner tucked away, seemingly not as important as any other of the deceased within the grounds. I find that absolutely disgusting from someone meant to be a ‘man of God’.
Luckily the locals were not so vile and all clubbed together to get her the headstone we see today, to mark her final resting place.

There is a book about this story by a lady called Kate Philbin, a very interesting and sad story.

Today I cleaned the headstone, unfortunately it is a bit delicate, so only a light sympathetic clean up, with some silk yellow flowers added ❤️
Hopefully her headstone is shining brighter than those of the vile scum that put her there, the murderer and the priest.
