Back to the bench, after a lovely few days away, and back to working on a bespoke wedding ring, which will sit around this engagement ring that I had the honour of making last year 💛💍! It’s trickier aligning them than I thought it would be ☺️ but I love reaching the point of a make, when you can see your vision coming to fruition!! 💫
•joben and thank you for your patience and belief as always 🙏🏻

(And don’t panic, the dodgy brown and greenish colours tainting the gold are all part of the process from heating and soldering 😉!!)

A week of lovely things…!

Celebrating my nephew turning 12 and spending time with my family in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🫶🏻

A day in London with and 🌹for afternoon tea and rooftop views. Not just a well overdue catch up, but actually more to get together after tragically losing our very dear friend Kim in December. She should have been there. And even more, she would have loved to have been there, as she was always trying to organise this between us all. You think you have all the time in the world. We laughed, cried and reminisced. And hope Kim, you were watching over us just chuffed that we got a date in the diary at long last!

And a lovely visit from my Welsh girls to the Shire 🧡 the first since pre-Covid! (Within a week we’ve gone from wearing woolly jumpers and scarves to summer outfits 😂)!!

Plus first bbq of the year and the cat’s got it right in this heat!! 😹☀️

⚡️This one was sent out at the end of last week for a 50th birthday gift 💝

It’s not the first bolt necklace I’ve made and hopefully won’t be the last!

As you can see from the pics - they are hand-sawn, filed and polished, one by one, and so every bolt that I make is unique from the next ⚡️⚡️which, I hope you’d agree, is pretty special as a gift ☺️!

Thank you Ali for asking me to make it, for supporting my mini jewellery biz for so long and for coming back for more 🙏🏻!

The making of the Maltese star ring 🇲🇹 with very intricate piercing (sawing) of the stars from sheet silver, soldering them on to the band without them shifting as the solder runs, personalised with hand-stamped initials for family members, and completed with a matte brushed finish. Hallmarked with my own makers mark along with proof its sterling silver, that it’s been tested for quality at London’s Assay office, and the year it was made. I was nervous about getting this one right, but am so pleased with the outcome! 🛠️💫

More pics of the final ring in my last post.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared what I’ve been busy making over the past few months! So let’s start with…

A very bespoke design to incorporate the Maltese cross and family initials 🇲🇹❤️

Daniel had an idea of what he wanted but couldn’t find a ring like it anywhere.

So we worked on a design, incorporating his vision, and voila! 💫

It was an intricate and tricky piece to work on (I’ll share how I made it separately!), so I was over the moon that A. it looked like the design (!) and B. it was met with such appreciation…

Dan said it was absolutely amazing and he loves it! It’s exactly what he wanted… and that I surpassed his expectations!!

What high praise! ☺️

Thanks so much for trusting me with bringing your vision to fruition by making this special and long-awaited ring for you! I am overjoyed you love it so much!!

Hallmarked by the for quality control, with my unique ‘makers mark’ which traces it back to me as the jewellery maker.

I had a really proud moment yesterday, pouring my heart out to ALL the people who run on their staff away day.

I sat on a panel with two very strong and inspiring fellow Tommy’s supporters/fundraisers (their fundraising far surpasses mine tenfold!!), each with our own affiliation to the charity, and our own scars to bare.

And a very special moment was coming face to face for the first time with one of their bereavement midwives, Juliette, who made such an impact on me in 2023. I’d called their helpline when I was deep in the trenches following our 5th (of 7) miscarriages. And I no longer had the knowledge and support of a consultant, who I’d previously seen through a Tommy’s recurrent miscarriage clinic in London, as he had so sadly and suddenly passed away just a couple of months after I had seen him. At that point, I was possibly at my lowest, I felt so lost and I didn’t know where to turn. Juliette was a voice at the end of the phone who just got it. She offered to reach out to their other research centres and recurrent miscarriage clinics in Birmingham and Coventry for me, to take the burden off my shoulders and pass on everything we’d been through to their medics, when I had no energy to keep looking for answers. That kind and selfless act made such an impact on me when I needed it the most, and I’ve never forgotten it. So to sit there, telling that story of how Tommy’s has helped me, and looking at her in the audience, through my tears, to say thank I you, was really special.

I explained to the room I will continue to support and raise awareness of Tommy’s. For me personally, I am so behind them funding research into the unexplained traumas of baby loss with an aim to try and prevent it for future generations. They also campaign for changes in Government when it comes to maternal health and support through and after every miscarriage, which is so needed. But what a lot of people don’t know, is they do SO much for every stage of pregnancy.

It’s a privilege to be seen and heard by them. And I could see the passion in the room. What a charity! 🩷 Thank you for inviting me 🙏🏻xx

💎I was trusted with an extremely sentimental ring to replace a teeny diamond recently, and I was a little scared to get to work on it!!!

Why? Because it needed a new little claw to hold in a new diamond, which means heating the ring to solder the claw on. But, the gorgeous purple heart is an amethyst, and it doesn’t like heat much… meaning it could crack or lose its colour entirely. And I absolutely didn’t want to ruin a piece of jewellery that meant the world.

So after a bit of pondering, I decided removing the amethyst first was the way forward, which I’ve not needed to do before. So, I bought this new prong lifter tool at and it was so much easier to take out than expected - quite the game-changer!

Then I soldered on some 18 carat gold wire to create a new prong, and set a new 2mm sparkly diamond to match the rest, before re-setting the heart amethyst 💜! (Diamonds can generally take the heat, but I still used some heat-protective clay, just incase)!

Anne’s response was just gorgeous - “I’ll swear it is even better than brand new. Thank you 🙏 so very much. I’ll never be able to thank you enough ❤️❤️❤️###”

thank you for believing in me, for trusting me, and being patient while I plucked up the courage to give it the time and attention it needed. I am so glad it’s back where it belongs!! 🙏🏻
