✥ Claws of Divination ✥
Cast from a mould taken of a real life Buzzard claw, this piece is weighty and set with a Clear Quartz.
Across human history, birds of prey have occupied a strange space between the earthly and the otherworldly.
Circling high above the landscape, the buzzard sees what cannot be seen from the ground. Its hooked talons speak of instinct, survival and the ability to seize and hold a creature, shaped by patience as much as power.
The claw itself carries ancient symbolism. Talons, teeth, bones and other remnants of the animal world have long been incorporated into charms, amulets and personal objects, carrying ideas of protection, strength and the qualities of the creature from which they came.
Paired with it is clear quartz, a stone whose glass-like transparency has long encouraged associations with clarity, divination and the unseen. Rock crystal was particularly prized before the nature of quartz was fully understood; its name derives from the Greek krystallos, meaning ice, reflecting an ancient belief that it was water frozen beyond the possibility of thawing.
In later magical and esoteric traditions, clear quartz became associated with clarity of thought, intention and the amplification of energy. Its natural point gives the stone an almost talismanic quality, appearing to gather, contain and direct.
