BY HAND AND TOOL - Free entry exhibition top floor of CRAFT CO close to Adnams shop or Jakery Bakery in Southwold.

This exhibition is a wonderful mix of mediums with an interview by each local artist or maker giving you insight into the processes and thought behind the finished pieces, as well as samples of tools and processes.

It includes Southwold artist, Karen Woodcraft. Original collograph prints of Southwold by Amelia Bowman (and related prints, gift accessories) Angela Humphrey's enamelled silver & copper collection 'Southwold' of water inspired jewellery, and Julian Merrill's landscape & seascape photography of the local area. Nigel Paterson's work includes enamelled copper bowls in beautiful delicate blues & greens.

The exhibition is running until 2nd June. Craft Co is also the location for the Tourist Information Office and the shop is filled with artisan and artist treasures - perfect if you are looking for a gift for yourself, a holiday treat, or something for a loved one.

Come and learn a little more about the skills of enamelling vessels and jewellery, creating collograph prints, landscape photography and whimsical painted & found mixed media scenes.

Now find the upstairs gallery and discover the exhibition By Hand and Tool where you can find interviews with 5 local artists and makers, tools, and equipment and explanations of processes - explore the individual artworks and take home a finished piece.

Shown here is an enamelled silver pendant created with turquoise vitreous enamel, Enamelled copper disc, and enamelled copper art panels. All kiln fired layer by layer to build up the vitreous (glass) enamel to the final finished piece.

The exhibition contains a jewellery collection "Southwold" designed for the exhibition inspired by the underlying theme of water...in various forms. Perfect for gifting...

We set up today at in for our exhibition By Hand and Tool. With fellow artists and craftsfolk

It runs until 2nd June and is open everyday including Wednesday from 10.30.

As well as our work, you can find out more about processes and materials with accompanying tools, and interviews which delve deeper into what and why we create.

Do some By and take a look. I create water inspired jewellery especially for the exhibition in silver, copper and blues and greens enamels. Hopefully you can see the inspiration in them...

Delivered a lovely workshop for 10 members of the Brundall Twinning Association yesterday. Predominantly French visitors.

These earrings were made by one member. I was told everyone wore their new creations in the evening.

I have some workshops coming up including Southwold this bank holiday Monday. Perfect if you are looking to do something a little different and create some magic in the kiln.

This final experimental piece came from the workshop with

It reminds me of fish roe in a little bowl...

I particularly like the way the orange colour of the glass beads changes through the bead depending on position during firing.
