When did we stop owning things?
You've seen the controversy about digital-only games. It's important we push back. Get locked out of your account, don't pay a membership and the games are gone!
I went to pay for something the other day and the main way to pay was Klarna? I'm from a generation where we saved for things. Why is finance shoved down our throats? Are people really buying a pizza on Klarna pay?
My biggest annoyance is rip and ship. You buy a pack or win a prize on a live stream, pull something amazing and some sellers cancel your order. Not every streamer does this, but I've seen countless stories. Buy it from us or another shop and get the product in hand. Stay safe out there.
I love displaying my VHS, cards and oddities on shelves at home. Our living room is a cornucopia of antiques and collectibles, reminding me of childhood and ancestors. Me and Lou realised last year, “why do we have no pictures on the wall?” Ever since, we've been printing pictures. Our kids love them and we tell them our memories ❤️
I've been showing my kids 90s films from my childhood in preparation for our second venue. I wanted to show him Ghostbusters and had to pay £3.99 just to rent it for 48 hours. If only I'd kept the VHS...
I have a clock that was my grandma's, with a spiritual connection. A vase once fell off it. Later a psychic told my mother it was a message from the other side, without knowing about the clock. I hope one day I can haunt my kids 🤣 I mean, pass them something down that reminds them of me!
When you buy online, you often lose that personal connection. In-store you can see, handle and inspect an item, and get it home safe. Nothing more gut-wrenching than something arriving smashed :(
At Silver Fox our goal is to keep physical shopping alive. We have such exciting plans for you and can't wait to share them!
Cash Is King? Things Are for Kings!
Next time you're shopping, hopefully you'll remember my message. Things are memories, make you feel nostalgic and can increase in value. Maybe something you buy will be worth over £5000 in years to come!
I say no to Cash is king. Things are for kings!
