The freshwater baroque pearls I shared earlier this week mixed here with labradorite in the Laura bracelet. I love the way these materials work together the soft lustre of the pearls against the changing tones of the facetted labradorite.

A quiet palette, with plenty of beauty and character. Worn here with knitwear letting the different textures bring each other to life.

Every new piece begins with beautiful raw materials freshwater baroque grey pearls.

I hand select the pearls, looking at their shape,lustre and individual characteristics, and how they sit together. Then come the finer details, a sterling silver clasp, a touch of pink thread, adding a surprise hint of colour between the pearls.

Small decisions, each one shaping the finished piece.

Earlier this week, I shared the stones and details that make up the Imogen necklace.

Here’s how they come together when worn. Pale aquamarine meets the deeper tones of smoky quartz.

The long line of the necklace works beautifully over a simple top.

This is what I mean by pieces with presence, jewellery that brings style and individuality to an outfit, even on an ordinary day.

I’ve chosen Rock Crystal nuggets its clarity and smooth cool finish together with facetted round stones, with each of these three stones catching the light.

Although almost colourless this is far from a quiet necklace. The scale and changing shapes give it real presence while the transparency keeps it beautifully easy to wear.

Finished with a statement clasp, another design detail to be enjoyed.

For Imogen I’ve paired the soft blue of aquamarine with the earthy depth of smoky quartz a contrast of light and warmth that gives this necklace its character.

This is a perfect, distinctive piece of jewellery which gives a simple outfit a point of view and a back story.

Rich Garnets with highlights of gold. I love how the light catches the stones as the necklace moves.

The deep colour gives this piece as real presence while still feeling easy to wear.
