This is Stage 1 of servicing the legendary Rolex Calibre 3135, one of Rolex's most recognised and long-running automatic movements.
We're starting with the strip-down, carefully dismantling the movement ready for inspection and cleaning.

SHOULD YOU ALWAYS SEND YOUR WATCH BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER? ⌚🔧

Not necessarily.

If your watch is still covered by its original manufacturer warranty, always check the terms before having any work carried out elsewhere. With many luxury brands, using an independent repairer can affect that manufacturer-backed warranty.

But once that warranty has expired, you have a choice.

A good independent workshop can offer:

🔧 Direct contact with the people actually working on your watch
📋 A proper assessment before work begins
💬 Clear communication about what your watch does and doesn’t need
✅ No work carried out without your approval
🛡️ A repair guarantee from the workshop carrying out the work

We’re an independent watch repair workshop, not an authorised service centre for the manufacturers we work on, and we’re always completely transparent about that.

Manufacturer servicing absolutely has its place.

But independent watchmaking does too.

So when your manufacturer warranty ends, remember:

Your choices haven’t.

⚠️ 5 THINGS I WOULD NEVER DO WITH MY OWN WATCH… ⌚

Some of these might surprise you 👀

❌ Change the date at the wrong time
❌ Use chronograph pushers underwater unless the watch is designed for it
❌ Assume an older watch is still waterproof
❌ Polish a valuable vintage watch without considering originality
❌ Ignore condensation underneath the glass

Some simple mistakes can turn into very expensive repairs. 🔧💰

Look after your watch properly and it’ll look after you for years to come.

“What watch should I buy as an investment?” 🤔⌚

I get asked this ALL the time…

And my answer might surprise you.

Don’t buy a watch purely as an investment. Buy a watch you LOVE, but buy it RIGHT.

Yes, certain Rolex, Patek Philippe and AP models have performed incredibly well over the years, but there are no guarantees.

For me, it’s about:

⌚ Buying desirable models
💰 Paying the right price
📦 Getting the best condition and set you can
❤️ And most importantly, buying something you’d actually be happy to wear

If it goes up in value? Brilliant.

If it doesn’t? You’ve spent the last few years enjoying a cracking watch on your wrist.

So here’s the question…
