Unique Gift
A unique gift from a customer in Prestwich this week. A poem from a retired English teacher. Thanks Dominic
To Paul Berry
My garden was a wilderness
Nature had triumphed over nurture
More or less!
What to do ? where to turn?
Should we hack and hew
Or should we burn?
Should we bring in an army of men
And start from scratch
All over again?
We scratched our heads
We bit our nails
All, of course, to no avail.
Then someone told us of Paul Berry
An artist in shrubs and topiary
An untiring worker – and no slouch!
He’d work miracles on our house.
And so he did.
Survey the scene:
A picture, a portrait.
A poem in green!
