AI will never be able to replicate the warmth of a human’s creative touch. Well I hope anyway or I’ll be out of a job! Here I made a Damascus steel ring with yellow gold inlay and liner for a client. The final piece was a real jaw dropper!

What do you think, is AI coming for the last of the craftspeople?

I was cynical about using this stick to make a pair of rings but there was a natural beauty hidden inside it! This piece of olive wood was sent to me by a customer who asked me to make a pair of rings for him and his dad.

They were machined out of a wood grain pattern Damascus steel and the wood/stone inlays were added. I was so surprised by how rich the wood looked when they were finished.

What an awesome commission 😁

Using a customers sentimental gold to create a new wedding ring with meaning (I’m not nervous at all 🫣). It’s always a bit scary taking a blowtorch something valuable but the final ring was worth the sweat. A stunning new gold and Damascus steel ring is born and on its way to make new memories with a legendary groom.

Please tell me one day it will all pay off 😅. Here’s Stunning but challenging ring commission from this week made with a customers sentimental gold jewellery.

I’m in the workshop all weekend to get orders out, sorry to all my customers who are waiting on me … things don’t always go as smoothly as planned haha.

I promised a customer I could turn a chunk of steel into a dainty wedding ring and hope I did a good job! At the very least I got some fun workshop time and my neighbours got to listen to Deftones all day.

Being a maker isn’t all wholesome workshop fun. Sometimes it’s extremely frustrating and very stressful when things don’t go to right when you’re on a deadline.

Am I on the verge of a nervous breakdown? Yes … but there will be some beautifully adorned fingers when these rings hit their destinations and that keeps me going.

Please be patient with me, your orders are coming. I’m aware of mid-late May deadlines and have everything scheduled in.

I’m off to eat, then bed then start the next batch of rings tomorrow. 👊🏽

A groom to be sent me the most interesting ring commission request I’ve received in my 11 year jewellery career when he posted a piece of peculiar wood to me.

The stunning oak came from the rafters of Westminster Abbey! The site of every coronation since William The Conqueror in 1066, burial place of monarchs and famous historical figures. The Gothic building itself is awe inspiring and I hope I did it justice.

Ian was super easy to get along with and I could sense his passion for his relationship and career. The final ring had to be perfect.

I ripped the oak down and machined a piece of Damascus steel for the outside of the ring. As a final embellishment I added an offset inlay of wood from King Charles III Sacristy Building.

If you think I did a good job then please give me a follow, I make interesting rings like this all the time … though this might be a one off 😂

Congratulations and thank you to our super buddz Alex & Rachael for the invite! What a stunning day in East Grinstead with top notch company and an atmosphere full of love.

It’s been a fantastic weekend away with my gorgeous gal and our half built camper conversion 😂. Tomorrow I’ll be turning 39 and will be celebrating my birthday in London.

Tuesday it’s back to reality to get May deadlines completed 👍🏽

Someone sent me a mystery bag of sand 😅 - if that was yours please message me to let me know so I can make your ring! Also spreading the message that joy still exists in a world of division … here’s my contribution for the week.

Shoutout to for stealing a pint of my blood.

Thank you for your work - hope the small amount raised helps in some way.

And if anyone sees tell him to come for a pint with me in Pembs 👊🏽😂

I made a wooden ring so tricky I’ve decided never to create another one of its kind! I’d like my frustrations to count for something so I’m thinking of auctioning this for charity … so keep your eyes peeled on my page this weekend as you could take home an endangered ring.
