September Sapphires 💙
I used to think my birthstone was a quieter member of the gemstone family. Beautiful, certainly — but perhaps lacking the unmistakable brilliance of a diamond or the mesmerising play of colour found in an opal.
How wrong I was.
Beyond the iconic royal blue lies an extraordinary spectrum of colour, with sapphires occurring naturally in almost every shade of the rainbow.
I love sourcing sapphires for this very reason — from the captivating blue-green teals of Montana sapphires, to the sumptuous peachy-pinks of Padparadscha, and the delicate, ethereal cornflower blues of Sri Lankan sapphires.
Each possesses its own character, rarity and allure, making sapphire a wonderful for fine jewellery. And beneath all that beauty lies remarkable durability — a gemstone made not only to be admired, but to be worn and cherished for generations.
So, September’s birthstone may be understated at first glance… but look a little closer, and sapphire reveals an entire world of colour. ✨
