Beautiful bangles made in today’s beginners class at the studio. Choosing from a variety of different wire options, via lots of stamping and hammering, some soldering and today a bit of forging too! Great to see such a range of different styles from the same starting point.

When the materials are really, really important.
Using a treasured heirloom to create two new rings. This kind of job always feels meaningful and isn’t treated lightly - it’s nice to be a small part of a new story.

Spinner rings……
A lovely day helping everyone make their spinner rings in today’s beginners class. There’s a lot of decision making in this one (on a Saturday!) as there are so many combinations of shape, pattern, form and texture to try - here are today’s! Everyone did a brilliant job and made something personalised and unique.
If you fancy making your own spinner ring there’s another date next term on Oct 3rd ☺️

A lovely morning teaching a private workshop for two friends who wanted to make sea glass pendants - special birthday gifts for a mum and her daughters. It was great to help out with these.
I don’t teach private classes very often as I get quite booked up with my regular classes, but it’s always worth dropping me a line to discuss dates if you fancy a special jewellery making treat.

⭐️Beginners simple silver rings⭐️
A lovely group of beginners making rings in the studio today. Celebrating special birthdays, spending time together or just some quality me-time learning some new skills. Lots of great patterns, textures, shapes - everyone did a fantastic job and went home with some beautiful new jewellery!

A lovely day in the workshop teaching an introduction to enamelling. Everyone got stuck into lots of creative experimentation - this class covers lots of different dry-process techniques and is a great first go at vitreous enamelling. Some of the class were here to learn about the process to add to their jewellery practice, some were more about the finished product. Either way everyone did a fantastic job and got to grips with using the kiln brilliantly (think of it as a really, really, really hot pizza oven).
It’s too hot to run this class over the summer but look out for more enamelling in the Autumn!

These colour samples have been fired in the kiln at 800 degrees, ready for this weekends enamelling workshop 🔥

Back in the studio after a lovely week off. Busy packing a parcel of stock to send to in Cirencester, and making sure we’re fully kitted out for this weekends enamelling workshop.
