BEHIND SILVER DAISY | How it all began ✨
Silver Daisy started by accident…
After finishing my accountancy qualifications in 2006, I had free evenings and decided I wanted to do something completely different — something creative again.
I signed up for a jewellery-making evening class, expecting a little bead stringing. Instead, I found myself at a jeweller’s bench with saws, drills, files and a soldering torch.
I was hooked.
My first grand plan was to make jewellery for my bridesmaids. I underestimated the task and never finished in time for the wedding! But I carried on learning, discovered silver clay and completed my PMC certification.
Then life and jewellery began to intertwine.
As I was becoming a mum, I started making keepsake jewellery capturing tiny handprints, footprints and fingerprints in silver. The pieces in this photograph are some of my early creations, made using my own boys’ prints, and I’ve treasured them ever since.
I opened an Etsy shop, sold through local gift shops and wondered if jewellery could become my career. But with a young family, the security of my corporate job won.
Eventually, juggling two little boys, work and jewellery became too much. I packed away my tools and hung up my apron.
But I never quite let go of the idea.
During Covid, I unpacked everything, turned our garage into a workshop and enrolled on a Fine Jewellery Diploma with . I started selling again, attending markets and teaching workshops, later completing my Advanced Diploma.
All the while, I was still working in corporate roles and wondering: could I finally make jewellery my career?
This year, the opportunity came along to take on a studio in the heart of St Albans.
So I took the leap.
In July 2026, I opened the doors to the Silver Daisy Jewellery Studio. I’m still at the beginning of this chapter, with an enormous amount still to learn and a million ideas buzzing around my head…
But after all those years of stopping, starting and wondering “what if?”, I finally get to put my energy into building the creative business I always dreamed of.
And I’m absolutely loving it. 🤍
