What a Fantastic Day in St Ives! ⚓☀️

Yesterday's Boats in the Bay 2026 brought the harbour, beaches and waterfront to life with a wonderful celebration of St Ives' seafaring heritage.

Visitors and locals enjoyed a packed programme of traditional sailing boats, live music, family-friendly activities, rope-making demonstrations, beach games, creative workshops and plenty of maritime magic throughout the day.

From watching historic luggers sail across the bay to joining in with hands-on activities on the beach, there was something for everyone to enjoy while soaking up the atmosphere of one of Cornwall's most iconic coastal towns.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, as well as the volunteers, performers, exhibitors, sponsors and organisers who helped make the event such a memorable success.

If you joined us, we'd love to see your photos and hear your favourite moments from the day in the comments below.

Boats in the bay has arrived!

A beautiful sight in St Ives Bay this morning, the magnificent Barnabas, the last serving St Ives fishing boat from the towns once thousand strong fleet of lug-rigged fishing vessels.

Built above Porthwidden beach by Henry Trevorrow, she is a strong reminder of our rich maritime heritage and looks absolutely stunning on the water today.

If your in town, come and enjoy the celebrations! Parade of sail from 3.00pm
