Ever looked at something for so long that it stops making sense? 😅

I’ve been there. Hours spent tweaking a website, changing things, comparing it with others… and still wondering what I’m missing.

The trouble is, when you know your business inside out, it’s surprisingly hard to see it the way a complete stranger would.

And sometimes that’s exactly where the problem is hiding.

Anyone else guilty of staring at something until they’ve completely lost the plot?! 😅🤣

Salty Twe is now Salty Chapter.

I’ve always loved the practical side of helping small businesses — websites, content, getting found online and making things work better.

But a good website is only part of the picture.

What happens when someone finds you? Do they understand what you offer? Is it easy to enquire, book or buy?

That’s what I want to look at more closely.

Spotting what’s getting in the way, finding opportunities worth exploring and helping put practical changes in place.

Could someone recognise your business, without seeing your logo?

Because good branding isn’t about putting your logo everywhere, it’s about becoming recognisable.

The colours you use,
The words,
The imagery
Your tone,
And little details that become unmistakably you.

The goal?

when people are scrolling a busy feed- they can spot you a mile off,

That’s it!

And nooo please don’t make every-post look like it’s been through the photocopier 🤪😂

Nobody visits your website hoping to solve a puzzle.

They’ve got a question and they’re looking for an answer.

If your website makes them work for it, they’ll find someone else’s 😅

That’s a hell of a lot more expensive than fixing the website.

What do you do?
What can I do next?

If I have to hunt around, decipher industry waffle or read half a novel before I know what you do… 🚩

Your website might look lovely.
That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s doing its job.

Go and look at your homepage as if you’ve never seen or heard of your business before.

Can you answer all three?

If not, that’s where I’d start.
