Hi i'm Charlie, an ex trucker who is now self employed making jewellery and rope splicing. I live with my wife, daughter and grandson, who are all very supportive of my business and are always on hand to give advice on different items I've made.

How’s it going everyone! Son of the grumpy one here. So over the past few weeks he’s been busy filling out forms for various shows and events for the year ahead. So I am pleased to say we have a list of dates for diaries of places you can find us this spring and summer so far.

Gooood morning lovely people! Son of grumpy trucker here, first and foremost on behalf of all of us here at grumpy trucker crafts we wish to say a massive thank you to all of you who came and seen us at the various shows and events over the summer season, so again thank you very much for your support!

Now where am I today? Well while the actual grumpy trucker is away on his holidays I’ll be at Calbourne Mill for their autumn fair between 10:00-16:30 so please come along and have a browse and see if you can’t snag yourself or someone else an early Christmas present or get some ideas for future fairs we’ll be at nearer to Christmas. Those dates will be posted as soon as I know so you’re all updated 😊

Hi all, yet again the plan was to post this the other day, but you know what they say about the best made plans of mice and men. Then plan B or C, or even D, was to take grandson to school this morning, grab a cheeky coffee and a bacon roll ( which has to be done ), do a bit of shopping and then go home home and do the page. What could be easier, no problem !!

However, fate decided to play it's hand. So, having just paid for the said coffee and bacon roll, and before Karen and myself had found a table and sat down, my phone rings. It's darling daughter, "Daaaad" and when any parent hears this, you instantly know this is going to cost me. " I've sort of forgot my work top this morning and left it at home. Please can to bring it to work for me ?" So I now know I'm going to Freshwater, after going home to drop off the shopping and collect daughter's wok top. For those who don't know, Freshwater is the other side of the Island, about 45 minutes to an hour away, depending on the time of day.

So, by the time we get home, have a cut of tea and a bite of lunch, an hour later it's time to get grandson from school again. But on the plus side, we did get some lovely new stock from a charity shop in Freshwater which will be lovingly restored and upcycled and put on the stall tomorrow.

This weekend we are at the Festival of Heroes event, being held at the County Ground at Northwood which has something for all the family. We have some lovely new sea glass that has been made this week, some thing for all the younger generations, including the dinosaurs and not forgetting the hearts and bracelet from Freshwater this morning. Please come along either Saturday or Sunday, it will be great to meet you and have a chat.

Hi all, it seems to be a while since the last post, well about 3 months, but life has been bit busy. I always thought that modern life and technology was meant to make life easier, well maybe it dose if your'e younger and understand it better.

I'm still trying to get to grips with the website, it's coming along slowly, I think it's an age thing. We've got some new sea glass necklace's and earrings, colourful butterflies and not forgetting the m&m's.

This weekend we are at the Charity Football Match at the Fairway Holiday Park, off the Fairway Road, Sandown. Come along and join us, along with other crafters, plus fun and games for all the family. There's even the chance the weather gods will be feeling kind towards us. We'll have all our new jewellery on display along with all the favorites, here's a selection of the sea glass and new butterflies. Hope to see you all there, starting at 11:00 am.

Hi all, well here we are again, I was hoping to be writing this a week or so ago, but you know what they say, time flies when your having fun. But, then again, it all depends on your definition of fun, here at home we have been busy getting ready for some busy weekends and the start of the big events. Then just to add to the fun, we are also starting a major revamp of the web site and for even more fun, I've got to learn how to do it, oh, and I've given myself 3 to 4 weeks to complete it.

The first full weekend of events starts this weekend in Newport at the Morrison's Community Market, held in the car park on Saturday morning starting at 09:00 and finishes at 16:00. Then on Sunday we are at the Rookley Fun Day, being held at the Rookley Village Hall, High Wood Lane, Rookley, starting at 10:00 and carries on to 17:00. I know the weather forecast is not the best, lets just hope the weather gods have a change heart and look favorably upon us all.

Hi all, well it's getting on for that time of year again, the start of the show season is about to start again and it's going to be a exciting and busy year.

It's going to a baptism of fire, starting with a busy couple of weeks, starting on Friday 30th March, with a Easter Egg Hunt and table top sale being held at the Ocean View Hotel in Shanklin, in aid of Breast Cancer Now. Then on Saturday 30th March the fun starts, we use the gazebo for the first time this year, let's just hope we remember how it all works and we can find all the sides , ropes and metal pegs to go with it, when we go to the Daisy Chains Easter Egg Hunt, being held at Brading Roman Villa from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm. Then on Sunday 31st March we are at Yarmouth Craft Market, being held at Yarmouth Community Hall from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm.

Then we get a short 4 day break to prepare for a very long 3 days, that start will start with a 12 to 14 hour day on Friday 5th April when we are at the Ventnor Carnival Spring Fayre being held at Ventnor Putting Green, Park Avenue, Ventnor starting at 11.00 am. Then the fun start's, when we finish at Ventnor, pack everything away into the car, then go strait to Northwood House on the other side of the Island and set up again ready for the first of many big 2 day events of the year. For the following 2 days, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April, we are at the prestigious Northwood House, Spring Art and Garden Fair from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm.

So with all the preparations for the next Two weeks and the year ahead in hand the Law of Sod decided to play his hand and so the starter motor on the car decided it didn't want to come out and play and work anymore, which is not very helpful. Well, I suppose it's better it happened this time of the year, rather than when we are busy in the middle of the season. So hopefully, all we have to hope for now, is that the weather gods are going to be kind to us and everyone this year, so if you are anywhere near one of the events we are attending in the next couple of weeks, please come along and have a chat and maybe a cup of tea and a bun, it will be great to meet you.

Hi all, well, I've finally done it, I only went and dipped my toe in the world of the modern selling platform's aimed at the younger generations. Well I did say "dipped", and it was only a toe, and it was only for a few days, then I very soon pulled it out again. I very soon found out that these modern selling sites aren't designed for us old duffers, who don't know allot and haven't got a lot of confidence with modern computers. I soon found out that my photos weren't of good enough quality or the background was wrong and anyway, how do you make and present a video about a piece of jewellery. So when my short dip into the modern world of the selling platform caused my anxiety and stress levels to go through the roof, I decided it was time to leave.

Then to finish the week off, I'm sure my my daughter is trying to poison me. Well, the other day I developed a bit of a cough, so my daughter announced, "if the cough didn't go away, you be given some medicine". So the next thing I know, she's gone to the kitchen, got this bottle of foul tasting so called medicine that tastes like poison and starts shoveling it down my throat. Then, my grandson has the cheek to tell me that if it tastes bad, it's good for me, I still think she's trying to poison me.

Then if I'm still alive, on Wednesday 6th March, I'm joining the Craft Collective at Newport and Carisbrooke Community Office's near the to end of Newport High Street, where you will find a great group of crafters with wide verity hand made gifts for every occasion.

Then at the weekend on Saturday 9th March we are at East Cowes Community Market, which is being held at East Cowes Town Hall, again with a great verity market goods and gifts. Then on Sunday 10th March we are at Yarmouth Town Hall attending a Craft Fair, with a great group of Crafters, with home made gifts for everyone.

It would be great if you could come along to any one of these events and join us and have a cup of tea and a chat.
