Success in York today for Liv.

It’s been a rollercoaster on this journey with lots thrown at Liv outside of learning but she’s got there with a solid 2 fault pass and positive feedback.

Liv has been my in car settler each week, she knows everyone and tells it how it is and that’s been a nice moderator for me each week. We’ve had hits and misses and pretty much every life event possible.
Over the moon for my mate Liv, go and enjoy it and remember, drive for you 😂

Massive congratulations to Katie on passing her driving test!

Pressure, what pressure!

Katie, who is my Daughter’s friend (also Katie) had a few practice sessions before officially learning to drive and had eyes on her from the go.

Despite the nervy start, she picked things up quick.

Some lessons from home but some lessons after college, meaning that the 2 Katie’s would be collected from maccies and turn up with a share box of nuggets for me!! Anything to shut me up I’m sure! Result!

Katie soon became confident with the drive and pushed on and when her test was cancelled and rescheduled to when I was away biking in Europe, what did she do?? Just got on with it and smashed it out! No pressure at all.

Her single driving fault was apparently for me not being there as her instructor (not sure that’s totally true) but when your testing in your own car (with Mum) and the pressure is on, passing with a measly fault doesnt really care thinking about!

Well done Katie, banter in car was brilliant, even when I was outnumbered, and this was only outdone by persistence, so go and enjoy it all mate, you’ve earned it. 🚙

Good luck to all of our future learners with their GCSEs today!

Don’t stress too much. We didn’t do brilliantly and yet today here we are, Ol, Adele and our friend James of JT Driving, riding our motorbikes across Europe!

Your future isn’t decided by exam results! It’s decided by passing your driving / riding test! 🤣

What’s better than doing some post test training with PassPlus…..maybe a trip to South Yorkshire for Dope Burger (Credit to my mates at Oh Savvy II for the intro) and an early evening milkshake before night drives.

Well done to Raoul for completing his PassPlus course, this has built on his initial skills and has also earnt him a nice discount on his insurance 🚙

If you’re interested in PassPlus, or even brushing up on some skills having been on the road for any length of time then get in touch.

Yes Daisy!!!

You did it, you don’t believe it yet and it may take a couple of days to sink in but YOU DID IT MATE!

With Daisy being one of my daughter’s friends we kind of hit it straight off.

Turning up in her North Face with her stiff shoulders and straight forward glare to relaxing, sitting back and taking it all in, developing into a really steady and safe driver.

From Dangerous Dave down Abbots to pheasants in the road and Daisy asking why is a chicken crossing the road (mostly true) and me not taking the mick at all (definitely not true)

Daisy found her feet one day down Flaxley Road and bossing the mini roundabouts and dealing with a lorry nice and calmly her confidence finally matched her competence and it really took off from there.

Passing in Walton today with 4 faults at the first time of trying and all this with only telling her friend and previous learner Iyla and a couple others.

What an achievement Daisy. Really proud and over the moon for you. Keep it safe and enjoy it all mate 🚙

A Win in Walton today for Raoul.

At the start of March Raoul hadn’t sat in the drivers seat before.

He worked hard to pass his theory and continued the hard work picking up the drive, rules, methods and learning during an intensive course that put him through his paces and resulted in a first time single fault pass.

So, was it a breeze? Absolutely not. Did we have set backs? Definitely, it’s part of learning.

It’s the response to that and the building of resilience that makes the difference with it and seeing the calm set over Raoul on the final drive to test centre along with the sound decisions left me smiling all the way.

Raoul joins me for Pass Plus in the coming weeks where we hope to push the foundations on and build confidence and skills even more.

What will I miss? First and foremost, Raoul himself. Having worked with his Dad many years ago in a different life I can see the apple doesnt fall far from the tree and I’ve really enjoyed the banter and laughs. Absolute 80’s on the radio or the playlist that matched it especially when I played DJ and got ‘told’ skip this song thanks mate.
‘Bonnet briefings’ when he missed breky so simply had to get maccies drive thru 😊

What won’t I miss?
The crème egg wrappers, maccies wrappers, Kit Kat wrappers, trainers left in my boot, lip cream, water bottles and a load more in my car 😊

Well done Raoul, extremely proud of you mate and we will catch up soon. JT 🚙

It’s been April showers so far and it continues today with Beth.

In December, quiet and unassuming Beth began her driving journey.

Beth went from timid to timely, fearful to fierce, cautious to confident.

Heading out with Mum and Dad between lessons and finding her way, working hard and getting the result today at the first attempt in York.

Those that know me know I’m not often speechless, but our last drive last night ahead of test, I was a passenger, just sat while Beth navigated all that rush hour could throw at her and calmly, independently drove her way through which was to a level beyond test ready.

This continued today meaning she got the win.

Sometimes teaching people to drive just isn’t a job, it’s watching people grow, take charge of their learning, find their way, build confidence and learn to enjoy driving which is all part of it.

Thanks Beth, you’ve been a star. Give me a wave when you seen me 🚙
