Client Custom Request – Sylvia Ring in 3mm Platinum

Our classic Sylvia design is usually crafted in a 4mm width, but a recent client asked for a slimmer version—and we were happy to oblige. We created a stunning 3mm Platinum ring in a court profile, featuring hand-shaped edges and a delicate mill grain detail that mimics tiny leaves encircling the band.

Every masterpiece starts with a blank canvas — and this ring began with a plain 18ct white gold raw metal blank. Through careful craftsmanship, it was transformed into a stunning, hand-engraved English Rose design.

Using 8 different grades of polishing cloths, the surface was meticulously cleaned and polished in stages — from rough grit to a final ultra-fine finish. This process gave the metal a smooth, reflective quality, prepping it for detailed work ahead.

Once polished, the blank was shaped entirely by hand, bringing the band to life. The engraving phase followed: an elegant English Rose bloomed at the center, flanked by delicate leaves curling gracefully around the ring’s band. Tiny beads were added around the floral design, offering a vintage texture and dimension.

This piece isn’t just jewelry — it’s a story told in metal and artistry. No casting, no shortcuts — just raw material, skilled hands, and hours of precision work.

This ring has been hand engraved all around with four petal flowers, beaded in the middle and a plain linking leaf between each flower, finished off with a milled edge on each side.

The band comes on a 2mm width (also can be done in a 3mm) heavy weight solid 950 Platinum, 18ct and 9ct white or yellow gold, also 925 sterling silver. The pattern can be engraved on a D or Court profiles and it is hand engraved by us in our South Yorkshire workshop studio. Every ring is unique and individual because it is cut by hand. We take pride in our hand engraving and are pleased to be able to say that no power tools are used to engrave any of our products, they are all done totally by hand. A truly handmade ring.
