Hello, I'm back! Had a little Insta-break but now returning to full Insta-action 💫
Easing in with some process pic's of this Art Deco-inspired pendant. It was commissioned by a wonderful client I’ve known since my early years as a jeweller. She came to me with some unworn pieces, including a pendant set with two aquamarines, and asked whether I could reuse them in a new design. A dream commission 🥰
The brief: multiple shades of my own 18k gold alloys, an Art Deco influence, and to reuse of her stones. I was so excited I drew up at least two dozen options 🫣.
After homing in on her preferred design, she felt the original aquamarines wouldn't suit the piece and asked whether I could source star sapphires instead. Needless to say, I'm so glad she did! The subtle purples of the gems coupled with their star quality (pun!) work so well.
Each element was hand‑fabricated in green, yellow, and red gold. I won’t pretend the sequence of assembly didn’t do my head in🫠 but if you have been following me a while, you know I love a challenge 🙃.
Sharing the process from the design to stone selection to fabrication. Will post the finished piece next!
