1. Karen Bartlett. Bracelet 2008

Victoria Sewart Contemporary Jewellery Gallery was the first ever gallery to stock my work, which is really special to me. I was living and working in Plymouth at the time whilst undertaking a master’s degree at Birmingham School of Jewellery (2006-2008). This piece was part of my final collection that Victoria showcased in the gallery. I consider Victoria a very dear friend and I am grateful for her support.

It’s been so special to work with Victoria and the team over many years since I started creating mixed media jewellery. I wanted to create a special piece to celebrate the beautiful gallery location on the Barbican.

I’m back in the studio today, busy unpacking and making all your orders and feeling so grateful for all your support! I just wanted to say another huge thank you to everyone that bought and placed orders at Sarah James MBE and for all the lovely conversations and comments it was such a joy! A big thank you to my lovely community of followers on here for your continued support too. It really does mean the world to a small business like mine, especially in the financial climate we are in and allows me to continue to make beautiful pieces, explore new ideas and to continue a dream that I love doing every day!

I’ll be up in Northumberland in August for forage lifestyle and I can’t wait!

I’ll also See you at Sarah James MBE Wales, Cardigan in September I’m so excited!!

A morning to pause and reflect after such an amazing weekend! ✨ I was straight back to work at my other job yesterday, feeling the glow from such a special time, but this morning I’ve really had time to slow down, reflect and smile. I just wanted to say a HUGE shout out to my other half and my Mum and Dad for all their help and support over the weekend at Craft Festival and always! It means the world that you’re all behind me every step of the way, with support, hugs, problem solving and love - I couldn’t ask for more ❤️

Always a joy to see my jewellery out in the world being worn and loved and to see customer wearing it straight away from the stand because they absolutely adore them! These lovely ladies were wearing fab combinations from their favourite Interchangeable earring collections, new necklaces and collaboration pieces by myself and Keeley Traae - Designer

Craft Festival 2026! 🌈✨- What a magical weekend!!

A massive thank you to Sarah and all the team at Sarah James MBE Bovey Tracey for all your hard work and organisation in creating such a great show this weekend, what a way to celebrate 22 years of this magnificent event!

It was so nice to be back in Bovey at one of my favourite shows of the year and to see and speak to so many lovely customers and fellow makers! It’s super special feeling to be part of our big craft family and all being together for this one weekend of the year is pure magic! This year my mum and dad also came along and it was an absolute joy to see them enjoy the show, as they’ve wanted to visit for so long!

Thank you so much to everyone that bought and ordered from me and for all the lovely comments and conversations! It was so lovely to chat to returning customers about how much they loved their purchases from last year, see pieces they had worn to the show and help them add new ones to their collection.

Mayor Cllr Sheila Brooke has opened the town’s 22nd Craft Festival.
Even as the gates opened, people were lining up to see what was on offer while a steady stream of shuttle buses was delivering even more folk to Mill Marsh Park.
Impressed with her first impressions, Cllr Brooke said: ‘Every piece on display tells a story of skill, patience and passion. By supporting these talented individuals we help preserve traditional crafts while encouraging new generations of makers.’
She thanked all those who had made the event a success both past and present and encouraged visitors to make the most of their stay by following the Town Trail included with the event programme.
Organise Sarah James MBE was equally happy with the launch and said: ‘I’m absolutely delighted, it’s great to see so many people here in Bovey Tracey enjoying Mill Marsh Park and all the wonderful things here.’
The fair runs today, Saturday and Sunday.
