Postage Update!... on the last Bank Hol we were inundated with customers emailing about orders not being received. We just wanted to remind customers on a few things....
The basic RM24 free post service we offer has 100% deteriorated in quality of service as alot of you know. When you checkout and select this service, please be aware that:
- We state a warning on checkout that RM24 (the free option) can and does often take 5 working days. It's basically sent the same as a letter in the post with a stamp on. We also seeing it take a little longer than 5 days in rare circumstances too. There will be orders placed Thursday last week, that were sent Friday where today (Tuesday) is the first working day after bank holiday. Please be aware of this.
- Tracked service we charge £3/parcel. The real cost is a lot higher, but we absorb a portion. If you need within 5 working days, then please please select and pay for the tracked service
- If your order hasn't arrived on basic service (RM24) we have no option with Royal Mail to find it, trace it, expedite it or even claim for a lost parcel. Basically it either arrvies or it doesn't and we will have to resend if it hasn't arrived after 5 working days. Almost always the original turns up eventually and whilst many return the duplication, there are a few that don't.
- We will in the future be applying a new postage matrix, which will offer a free Tracked option when over a minimum spend has been reached. Whether we will still offer the free RM24 I'm not sure. Lots of people have no issue with RM24 and it works for them, but it's getting more and more difficult over recent years to manage peoples expectations and deal with the extra customer service costs associated with delayed packages.
