When I started teaching jewellery making, I never imagined that one day I’d be juggling a jewellery school, shop, wedding ring workshops, commissions, social media, admin and making all the stock myself.

The good news is that the business has grown.

The bad news is that there’s still only one of me.

Recently I’ve had a few customers tell me they’ve popped in only to find the shop closed because I’m teaching classes downstairs or buried in the workshop making jewellery. After nearly 10 years of building this business, I’ve realised something has to change if I want to keep growing the school while also having the occasional day off!

So I’m looking for a few former students to become Associate Jewellers at Stockport Jewellery School.

I’m looking for friendly, enthusiastic jewellery makers who would be happy to spend a few hours in the shop, chatting to visitors, talking about classes and generally being part of the creative community we’ve built here.

In return, you can choose between:

✨ Free bench rental time
✨ A shelf in the shop to sell your work completely commission free

This isn’t about retail experience. It’s about finding people who love making jewellery and want to stay connected to the school.
