It’s been a very hot morning making a couple of these hammered silver bangles. My torch has to be on for a long time to solder them. Add that to the slow cooker needed to clean them up after soldering and an already sunny south facing workshop and you get a very hot Kate!! I wouldn’t change it for the world though. My workshop is my happy place 😊

Back to the bangle! It’s made from D shaped wire and is hammered once formed to give the texture which catches the light just beautifully. It goes with any outfit - in-fact mine never comes off and at some point I hope to treat myself to a stack of three 😮

This chunky hammered heart is ready to go. One of my favourite pieces to make with each one being individually pierced (sawn) out of a thick piece of silver (3mm). It’s a bit of a workout but definitely worth it 💪

The hammered texture really catches the light. It’s a necklace that will get noticed and is something you will reach for day and night.

Just finished plating this beauty in gold vermeil. It’s the perfect necklace for a sunny summers day/evening as the hammered detail really capture the light.

I made my usual sterling silver Strata necklace and then plated it with a thick layer of 18ct gold. It looks just as good in silver too. Which do you prefer - silver, gold or wearing mixed metal jewellery?

Such a gorgeous day today. ☀️ I think this necklace really comes into its own on brighter days.

It’s one you’ll reach for time and time again this summer, perfect on its own or layered with others.💚

It’s made with African turquoise beads, each one beautifully unique with natural variations of green, teal and warm earthy flecks. Finished with a chunky hammered silver charm for a subtle statement that catches the light just right. You can also adjust the length with the silver extender chain, so it’s very versatile.

I might just be making one for myself now too!

I wanted to be able to offer my jewellery in a choice of silver and gold (and maybe a mix of the two!) With the price of gold being so high I have decided to start with gold vermeil (pronounced ver-may) which offers the perfect balance of luxury and affordability.

Gold vermeil is sterling silver which has been coated in 2.5 microns of gold. I am using 18ct. This is a much thicker layer than standard gold plate which is usually 0.5 microns.

Back in February I purchased a kit to be able to plate my pieces myself in my workshop. I’m not going to lie, it wasn’t as simple as I thought (should have listened more in chemistry classes!)

Over the next few weeks I will be photographing and adding items to my website. I will also share them on here for you to see. I hope you will love the choice.
