Two more of my A3 graphite portraits are about to be handed over to their owners. I’m currently working on an A4 portrait and a few little 5” pieces, too. Every single one is drawn by hand, in graphite pencil, with its own little details and personality captured on paper. 🖤

🤎✏️ Some portraits are extra hard to keep under wraps! 🐴🤫
I've been working on something rather special, and I'm SO looking forward to being able to share this one with you all!
When you know the horse personally, it makes the whole process that little bit more special. Every pencil stroke brings back that familiar face, those little details and all the things that make them who they are. ❤️
Hours of work, lots of patience, a whole lot of graphite… and a little secret that I'm not quite allowed to share just yet! 🤭🎁
For now, you'll just have to trust me when I say this one's been a joy to create.

🐴✨ Well… hello, Equuinicity! ✨🐴
It’s been far too long since I actually stopped and wrote a proper post on here.
Life has been… well, LIFE lately. ❤️
I’ve been so busy with everything going on that, somewhere along the way, I realised I’ve been neglecting the page that I’ve poured so much of myself into.
And I’m sorry for disappearing a little.
Because behind the quiet page, Equuinicity is still very much here. 🤎
The horsehair is still being braided, woven and turned into beautiful keepsakes.
The pencils are still hitting paper and bringing horses and beloved pets to life.
The ideas are still coming faster than I can make them. 😂
And there are still so many beautiful things I want to create.
For those who are new here, Equuinicity is my little corner of the world where my love of horses, art and craftsmanship all come together.
I create horsehair jewellery and keepsakes, including my woven pieces, and bespoke graphite portraits of horses and pets — all handmade by me, with a whole lot of love and attention to detail. 🤎
And to those of you who have been here for years…

I think it’s time I started showing you a bit more of what I’ve been up to. 👀

One of my most recent commissions, and another very special horse to have the privilege of capturing in graphite. ✏️🐴

When I draw a portrait, I’m not just drawing a horse.
I’m trying to capture the soul behind the eyes. The little expressions, the softness of their face, the quirks that you know so well… those tiny details that make them unmistakably yours.

Because our horses are so much more than horses.
They’re our friends, our confidants, our happy place. They’re there through the good days and the awful ones. They become part of our stories, our routines and, ultimately, part of who we are.
And that’s why I love creating these portraits so much. ❤️

There is something incredibly special about taking a photograph and turning it into something tangible that can be held onto forever.

🎄 Christmas is creeping ever closer… 🎄

Something I've been thinking about lately… 🤎

In any handmade industry, there will always be people with different techniques, different styles and different levels of experience.

Some people will tell you they're the best.
Some will tell you their product is the strongest.
Some will tell you they've been doing it longer than anyone else.
And that's absolutely fine.

Personally, I don't believe you need to tell people you're the best.

I'd rather show you what I do, explain why I do it that way, and let the quality of my work speak for itself.
Because ultimately, you don't choose a maker because
they've been doing something for the longest.

You choose them because you love their work, trust their craftsmanship and feel confident putting something incredibly precious into their hands. 🐴🤎

No competition. No big claims. Just bloody good craftsmanship. 😉
