Big surprise when checking the cameras sunday morning! 'Pearl' had given birth to a bonny heifer (girl) calf a month early. Strong, lively and suckling well. 😁

One of the challenges, in these freezing temperatures, is making sure all livestock have water. We switched the pigs to a trough. After a drink they like to play with ice cubes and blow bubbles. 😂 sound on.

We let the cows open their presents early. Big automatic brush for the breeding herd, static springy one for this year's calves. 😁

After making haylage off the herbal ley, it recovered well, enough to let some youngsters and cows have some extra tasty grazing before winter. The youngsters were excited, the older cows took it in their stride.
